Tickle Me Eggo

If you like to lose control and like a smaller, versatile, easy-to-use egg, then this is a very good option. But beware, the Tickle Power of this mighty little machine: If you are at all ticklish, then it will hunt you down and make you laugh until you're hysterical. Whether this is good or bad is, of course, up to you.

Use

The great thing about egg vibrators is that they're multi-functional. Not only can they be used as clit and labia vibrators, they can also be used internally.

Beginners might want to start by holding the egg to their clit or tucking it between their outer lips. The oval shape provides a nice vibration to a number of points, no matter how you position it.

Used internally, the egg is inserted kind of like a tampon (only, really, quite a bit sexier). Just make sure, of course, that the egg is well-cleaned, as are any fingers. It can be inserted as shallow or deep as you feel comfortable.

Eggs that have remote controls are also delightfully multi-use in that they're easy to operate yourself, and just as easy to have a partner operate for you. Those who like a lot of masturbatory control without having to reach down will love this for solo play, while anyone who wants to give up control to their partner will find there's an inherent power-structure built into this toy.

Material / Texture

The material is that slightly velvety plastic that's become popular recently. However, there are various levels of "velvet-soft" and this one is kind of at the bottom of the scale. Yes, it's softer than plain plastic, but it's not really velvety, either. Just sort of... not smooth. Like the difference between a plastic Easter egg (very smooth) and a chicken egg (kind of bumpy smooth) and a chocolate egg (very velvety). This toy is the chicken egg. Only, obviously, less breakable. Does the finish add anything? Not really. But it doesn't detract either.

You can see pictures of its size, shape and finish here.

It had a very slight chemical smell straight from the package, but that went away as soon as I washed it the first time.

Design / Shape / Size

The shape is exactly egg-like, slightly smaller than a chicken egg. In many ways, it's the perfect shape for everyone from beginners to more advanced users. Because it's easy to hold -- it fits perfectly into the curve of a palm -- it's very easy to get the right angle, whether you're using it alone or with a partner. Inserting it requires a little more attention, but because it isn't very large, the process isn't intimidating. I could definitely feel it inside, even when it wasn't on, but it didn't feel like it was stretching things in an uncomfortable way, like some larger eggs and/or Kegel toys do.

It would be easy to hide if the controls were slightly smaller, but the controls are about twice the size of the egg itself. Most of that is, not surprisingly, for the two AA batteries.

Functions / Performance / Controls

"Wow, that's surprisingly quiet." This was what both the boy and I said at the same time once we turned it out. Pleasant surprise, that, as most eggs seem to think their job is to alert everyone within a mile that you are about to begin have sex RIGHT NOW. This one was definitely more of a whisperer. Nice, that.

The control panel is so very simple -- a little button lets you turn it off, low, and high. That's it. The little slider button is even made of a nice soft rubber that feels good under your thumb, and the control itself is ergonomic, right down to the little ridges where your fingers go.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

The toy is plastic, which means it can be cleaned with some antibacterial soap and hot water, or else by rubbing it down with isopropyl alcohol. Lube options are plentiful, including water-, oil- and silicone-based.

The storage is simple, but I recommend being careful with the cord from the egg to the controls. The cord is covered with a flexible plastic, so it isn't likely to break and it doesn't seem to tangle easily, but you can never be too careful. A remote-controlled egg without its remote control is not going to be very much fun.

The only other thing to watch out for are the hinges on the battery compartment. They feel flimsy, but really aren't; however, the hinges will pinch a finger if you're not careful while opening and closing.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Packaging is "traditional" sex toy packaging -- nondescript, plastic and paper, with a bit of information on the back. Nothing to look at twice, but does the job of protecting the toy until it arrives at your house.

Personal comments

I've wanted an egg for a long, long time. It was one of those things that seemed like it would appeal to my submissive side, handing over the controls to someone else. But I've never found one that I wanted to plunk down the money for -- most were too ugly, or too big, or too expensive. So when Eden offered to let me review this one, I was more than a little stoked. Cute, just the right size, perfect for getting my feet -- and other places -- wet.

In using this toy, I discovered two things:

One, yes, this kind of toy does appeal to my submissive, "hand-over-the-car-keys and go along for the ride" side. Very much so. It also, from the grin on his face, appeals to the boy's "gimme the keys!" side. Yum, yum, yum.

Which brings us to discovery number two. I. Am. Ticklish. Okay, not so much a discovery. I knew this already. What I learned was: At the speed that this toy revs when its inside, combined with not having control, it was like being tickled by a mechanical machine whose internal machinery was mimicking this conversation with me:

"Don't!!!"

"Don't what?"

"Tickle me."

"Okay!" -tickling ensues-

"No, DON'T tickle me! Gahhhh!"

It tickled so much that within the first minute, I thought I was either going to die of inability to breathe or I was going to wet the bed.

So, word of caution or advice, depending on your stance: If you like losing control and being tickled, go for this in the g-spot and give it to someone with a sadistic streak. If tickling makes you want to run screaming for the hills (Me! Me!), then use it on low and/or externally.

In truth, we laughed our butts off over it, after, and he still threatens me with the damn thing ("Don't make me get the egg..."), but I never, ever, ever want to have that experience again!
Follow-up commentary
Yes, it still tickles like crazy! Yes, it's still a lot of fun to use, both in a teasing way and in a sexual way. Giving up control is still this toy's biggest appeal to me. And, I'm guessing, the biggest appeal to the boy who has his hand on the controls as well.
