Too much for too little time.
The OhMiBod didn't work well with most music, was needlessly weak, and broke after almost no time at all. It turned most songs into a dull buzz before it broke without warning.Published: January 29, 2012
Pros:
Intuitive controls, safe material
Cons:
Weak vibrations, broke quickly, not waterproof
This was actually my first vibrator quite awhile back. Let me tell you upfront that it died. It died after under six months of light use. The motor just fizzled out. I smelled burning plastic, and it died. This was after all the metallic paint chipped off both the replaceable ends, and I found out how careful I had to be to clean the places where the end screws on.
What is the most advertized feature of the OhMiBod? It's a vibrator that vibrates along with your music! Anything on your iPod can now be turned into pleasure. The only problem with that is that it's not true. It turns most songs into a dull and boring constant vibration. It can't in any way differentiate between the beat, the vocals, and the instruments. That's supposed to be its selling point, and it fails in that regard.
There are two ends for it that can be unscrewed to get to the battery compartment. One attaches to the cord that hooks to your iPod or laptop. The other turns the OhMiBod into a standard vibrator. Even as a standard vibrator, it's nothing spectacular. It's not very powerful, but it is loud! There is no good reason for it to be as loud as it is while being as underpowered as it is. If it was any kind of interesting, it could make up for that. Unfortunately, it's not. It's very boring, very standard, and simply does not impress. There's nothing special about the color or the shape. It's terrible for G-spot action. It's food-grade material plastic, so it's easy to clean. It has a habit of collecting grime under the screwed on ends, where cleaning requires getting dangerously close to the batteries. All of that is without the simple fact that it died very quickly with no warning whatsoever.

I got nervous and took it off and the batteries out. Help!!!the unit should not heat up like that when plugged in. one of the reasons that it would do this is if the batteries were placed in the device backward causing a short in the circuitry that converts the audio signal into a higher dc power signal for the motor. always use the standard non headphone cover and test to see if the unit works before using the headphone adapter.
if the unit does not work with the standard cover the batteries might be in wrong, once it works with the standard cap switch to the music cap and try a source like a mp3 player/PC/ something with a standard headphone jack. the iphones have a bit of a different headphone jack style with an extra set of contacts for the iphone headsets so if the jack does not go fully in may cause a short in the vibrator.

Quote: I love to party alot in groups. Would the ladies like this? Would they be fun at parties?I think this would be good for parties, especially if there's music. There's a version of the OhMiBod that actually picks up the ambient sound in a room -- you might want to have a look at that one!

To me, it seems like that would be a better use than in private. Seems like the novelty would wear off if you only used it alone.

I was wondering if anyone knows if a phone with an mp3 player built in would work with an OhMiBod vibrator?
-
I replied to your post in the other thread in which you asked this question, but here it is again.
The reviews on the product page state:
"If you don’t have any kind of portable mp3 player, the Naughti Nano can be used with any CD player, computer, or other device that has an audio out option (small jack) for headphones."
From Sammi's review, which can be read here. -
Yeah, it can. The only thing that the OhMiBod "links" into is your headphone jack. If it can take a headphone jack, you're good.
