The Ellove by Fun Factory promises a lot and it delivers. Part of Fun Factory’s new SmartVibes line, the Ellove is made of hypoallergenic, Phthalates-free, 100% silicone which means it has no taste or smell and it’s long lasting and easy to clean. Wash with soap and water before and after each use and it can be sanitized with a 10% bleach solution (I wouldn’t boil it, even though it is waterproof.) Since it is silicone, you’ll want to stick with water-based lube on this one. (Also, since it is lacking a flared base, make sure you keep this toy out of your butt.) Like other Fun Factory products, the Ellove is sleek and streamlined and just absolutely sexy-looking. And it does come with instructions for cleaning, battery installation, care, and functions.

The material itself is not as dense as I expected. I’ve found other silicone toys from Fun Factory to be very firm and hard. This silicone had much more of a give to it. Not as soft as cyberskin, but more the squishiness of a jelly toy, which gives it a more realistic feel. The texture of the Ellove is extremely smooth and velvety and doesn’t hold onto lint.

It takes 4 AAA batteries that were easy to install. There are three buttons on the control panel on the end—which lights up and is situated so that the toy is easy to hold and operate the buttons one-handed. There is a plus button, a minus button, and an asterisk button on the very top. The plus turns the vibration on and progresses through the various settings. The minus allows you to go back and after the lowest setting turns the toy off. Holding the button down will quickly set the vibe back to the lowest. The asterisk is the “turbo boost.” When you press this one, a boost of power increases whatever setting you have the toy on. Whoever thought of this is a genius. So if you love the escalating pattern but need just a little more to push you over the edge, hit the turbo boost and you’re on your way. It also allows you to create your own patterns while using the button on a steady vibration setting. Just to note, the boost is a steady vibration surge and does not maintain the pattern of the functions.

We found the quality of vibration of the Ellove to be incredible—it’s a very low thrumming that resonates throughout the entire pelvis. Both my partner and I could get off on the lowest setting alone, if we were to let it happen that way. The vibration is just that deep. I did find that the highest setting tended to numb me out just a little, but I’m not a power-queen. My partner, who isn’t as sensitive to stronger vibrations, didn’t have the same experience with the numbness.

Internally, the vibration is just as nice and the shape is perfect—smooth for easy thrusting but curved to hit the g-spot. It really is a thrusting toy internally. The material is not firm enough for a good g-spot nudging, but for thrusting the shape is extremely well made. The only issue we had with this toy internally was that the initial insertion was a little uncomfortable. It isn’t the largest toy we own, and it is slightly tapered, but we both found inserting the Ellove a little difficult. I think it is a combination of the blunt head and how bendy the material is. As a plus, that does allow for a really satisfying pop once it is in. And it is VERY worth it.

With its high quality material and deep humming vibration, I would quickly (and loudly) recommend this toy to any woman—beginners to sex toys and long time addicts alike. The great range in vibration is perfect for newcomers and the turbo boost and deep quality of the vibration make it a great buy for a connoisseur. This one is definitely being kept right by the bed.
