Turn It On, Turn Me On Again

The Harmony wireless wonder is a great bullet for stimulation in public or at home. It’s quiet enough that no one will hear it and stays in place well. The vibrations aren’t super strong, which allows the bullet to be worn for a considerable length of time. The remote’s LED light doesn’t stay on to indicate if the bullet is on or what pattern it’s in, which would be an improvement I’d love to see. Overall, a great product and a lot of fun.

extremely useful review
A while back, my husband and I discovered the fun of using toys in public. Nothing obvious to other people: I’d wear out Smart Balls or an anal plug, and the thought of me wearing something like that really turned my husband on, whether on a trip to buy groceries or out at a restaurant or bar. We’ve even experimented with remote bullets, both in and out of the house, with some success (although I find it rather hard to control myself after a while). The Harmony Wireless Remote looked like it had a larger bullet than we’d used before so I was happy to receive this from EdenFantasys to review.

The Harmony is made by Doc Johnson, and comes in an easy to open plastic box. The bullet and remote are visible through the front, while the back of the box contains some product information. The box contains the vibrating bullet, remote, 3 N batteries and one 12 volt battery so it’s ready to go right away. The Harmony comes in both black and white, which represents “Yin” and “Yang”.

The Harmony’s bullet is large. It’s about 3 1/2" long, with a diameter of 1 3/8”. It’s a shiny, slick black. The bullet has a 3” long retrieval loop that feels as though it’s plastic coated. The bullet is meant to be vaginally inserted: however, this toy is not safe for anal use due to its lack of a flared base.

The Harmony bullet has a visible seam that separates the two bullet pieces and allows for battery insertion. The pieces are removed by gently unscrewing them apart. An O-ring sits at the bottom of the threads, ensuring the bullet is waterproof.

The bullet takes 3 N batteries, and the direction is indicated by small white battery diagrams on the sides of the bullet next to each compartment. These diagrams are hidden when the cap is replaced. The two halves of the bullet only fit together one way, and a small white arrow on the bullet’s exterior indicates the positioning of the two halves.

The remote is shiny and black, and could almost be mistaken for a garage door or car remote, if it weren’t for the Doc Johnson logo and name on the front. It is 2 3/4" long and 1 1/4" wide, and almost 3/4" thick. A keychain/belt attachment is attached to the top, and it’s easy to attach this to your key ring, or even a collar or cuff ring if desired.

The battery compartment is located on the back and is easy to open. It seems to close securely. The 12V battery fits snugly inside.

The front of the remote has 2 buttons. One is a dedicated on/off button, while the other is larger and labeled with a 7. A green LED light is also on the front to indicate operation of the remote. The biggest problem with the light is that it doesn’t stay on when the bullet has been turned on, nor does it flash or remain solid when the different vibrations or patterns are selected, so it’s possible to turn the bullet off and not be any wiser unless your partner lets you know.

Both the bullet and the remote are made out of ABS plastic, which is non-porous, phthalates-free and body safe. Both can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water. While the bullet is waterproof and can be submerged during cleaning, the remote is not and should be wiped down with a cloth if necessary. Both can also be cleaned by wiping with isopropyl alcohol. Water-based and silicone lubricants are safe to use.

The Harmony features 7 modes of vibration:

- low, steady vibration
- medium, steady vibration
- high, steady vibration
- rev up from low to high
- medium pulse
- fast pulse
- 3 short pulses followed by 1 long pulse

This bullet is very quiet. It’s not as loud as my phone on vibrate, and when it’s inserted it can’t be heard, especially if there’s any kind of noise in the background. The vibrations on the high modes aren’t earth shattering, but you wouldn’t want them to be for extended wear.
Experience
We tried this bullet both in and out of the house, and we found it had a range of about 30 feet. I like the size of the bullet, and it stayed in place pretty well. My husband, who’s addicted to TVs and remotes, really liked the remote for this, although his biggest complaint was he couldn’t tell if he’d turned it on or off or what pattern he had it on. I felt like he was channel surfing on occasion!

We found at home, even on the high speed, that he could barely hear it. I could definitely feel it! I did find that on a steady vibration I could try and tune it out, so to speak, but when it was on a pulsing pattern I knew it was there.

Out at Walmart this was quite a distraction. He was having fun shopping in a nearby aisle and clicking at random. The change of patterns didn’t make me jump, but finishing shopping was hard.

This was much easier to deal with at the bar since I could escape to the bathroom if I needed to. I did have to ask him to turn it off, though: you really can’t leave it in if you’ve got to go.

I’ve had good luck with the batteries – they last a long time. We also didn’t have any issues with the remote not cycling the bullet through patterns or speeds – it was very consistent unlike other bullets I’ve used.

This is a fun one, and great if you want to have a bit of risqué fun in public!
Follow-up commentary
This has really turned into something we use quite a bit. I love the size of the bullet, and I've not had any problems keeping it inside me. The battery life is pretty decent, although it seems the remote battery runs out a bit quicker than the batteries in the bullet. I'd love if they'd make rechargeable N and 12V batteries!

My husband gets a kick out of having the remote. He'll turn this on and off at random, whether we're in the house or out at the store, and I'm glad it's as quiet as it is! It's been an interesting experience keeping control of myself on occasion.

This is probably my favorite remote-controlled toy to date, and one I'd still recommend.
