Tuyo sex toy review
The Tuyo is a classy, modern toy that's fun to look at and even more fun to roll around with. It's in a class by itself in terms of its shape and design. It's not entirely perfect, however.Published: March 3, 2008
Pros:
Beautifully designed; high quality materials; a variety of vibration modes!
Cons:
One-touch button design makes switching it off inconvenient.
The Tuyo comes in a gorgeous, sturdy black box, nestled in satin padding. The box is both beautiful and functional. The toy itself is also very aesthetically pleasing – there’s something about the round shape that is very exciting. I got the black version, and I think it looks incredibly classy. I love the stainless steel bands around the silicone grip. Just looking at this toy is somewhat arousing.
Besides being gorgeous, this toy is also, in my mind, the perfect size. It fits very comfortably in the palm of my hand. I also love how unique this toy is in design – its closest “relative” that I can think of is The Cone, and that’s an entirely different shape! It’s very nice to be able to add variety to my toy collection, and to have a toy whose vibrations cover a larger surface area than just the head of the clitoris.
Personally, I don’t like to immediately start stimulating the head of my clit when I first begin masturbating; I prefer to massage my entire labia as I’m warming up, teasing myself every now and then with some indirect clitoral stimulation, and then finally, after much teasing, move to the more direct clitoral stimulation. The Tuyo is perfect for this kind of general labial and indirect clitoral stimulation.
I’d been expecting the Tuyo to be on the mild side in power, because it runs on 3 AAA batteries, but I actually found it to be very powerful. It’s not Hitachi powerful, of course, but it is strong enough to make me come all on its own, which was a very pleasant surprise! I like the different pulsation patterns, especially the one that I call the “escalator,” which goes slowly up and then back down, over and over again.
The biggest drawback about this toy is its control button. Everything on the Tuyo is controlled by a single button. This is great for creating a sleek, streamlined look, but it creates some problems. First, you can’t change intensity levels within the different modes. When you first turn on the toy, it starts on the lowest intensity level, then moves through the other two intensity levels. Then, with every subsequent push of the button, it moves through five different pulsation patterns. You can’t, however, make the pulsation patterns more or less intense. This is a somewhat minor quibble, but worth mentioning.
A larger annoyance for me was the fact that you also can’t turn the toy OFF until you’ve cycled through all eight modes (three speeds and five pulsation patterns). This means that, unless you happen to be using the eighth stimulation pattern, you are going to have to do some repeated pushing of the button in order to turn this toy off. It’s not the end of the world, and it’s not going to stop me from using the Tuyo. Still, it’s an imperfection in my mind that keeps this toy from getting five starts from me.

Convenience for Clitoral stimulation
-
I have been looking at this toy for a while. Has any one found this too big or too clumsy for clitoral stimulation? It just looks like it might be hard or uncomfortable to keep between your legs. I know it is meant to stimulate the clit, but as someone who has to part her pussy lips to reach her clit. Would this be uncomfortable for me do you think? Let me know if you have any first hand knowledge :) Thanks.

It will fit between your legs, but is mostly good for broader stimulation.
I'd suggest something like the PicoBong Honi (if you like lighter vibrations) or another egg-type vibrator. Even the ones with attached remotes aren't as bulky and clumsy as the Tuyo.

Thank you for viewing Tuyo – vibrator review page!

Dang it, I want one of these now. :) Good review!
nice, I was wondering how good the ball shape would be. I turn off my onye (the less ball like version of this toy) by cracking it open (as if to change batteries) when I'm done instead of cycling through the rest of the patterns.
Does it vibrate all over the ball or?
Red, that is a good idea as a way of getting around the turning it off problem!
It vibrates only on the lower half of the ball -- sorry I forgot to mention that! And I like that it only vibrates on the lower half of the sphere because it makes it easier to maneuver without your hand going numb. :)
It says in the manual that you can turn off the Onye or Tuyo at any time by holding the power button for about 2 seconds. It works, you just have to get the timing right!
Been pondering getting this or the Onye for some time now. Thanks for an informative review!
It's certainly sexy. To me just one button seems easier, less complicated.
Onye Owner is correct. Just hold the button down for 2 seconds and Tuyo will turn off. That avoids having to cycle through all vibration modes.
I love how you made this sound! It sounds great aside from the fact that it can't just shut off.
Great review!!
