Uma: Feel Mimi within.

The Uma is a wonderful idea with a near perfect execution. It was made to give you Mimi's power with the added length for g-spot stimulation. The Uma unlike the Mimi has a third button, but using the buttons can be more of a hassle than a wonderful added feature. The Uma is perfect for G-spot stimulation, strong clitoral play, even some lite sensory play. The Uma is rechargeable, so no worrying about batteries. With its minor downfalls the Uma is one of my favorite g-spot vibrators.

Use

The Uma is a wonderful creation by JeJoue. JeJoue is personally one of my favorite manufacture brands. When I think of JeJoue, I think top of the line, so it really wasn't a huge surprise when I fell in love at first site, and needed to order it as soon as I could. I did wait for some review to be on the safe side. I notice in most of the reviews they all talked about the same problems, so I went into ordering the Uma fully knowing what I was getting into. The Uma can be used alone, or with your partner. The Uma has this beautiful shape to it, which makes it perfect for g-spot stimulation. The Uma can also be used for clitoral stimulation; you can use it with other toys. The Uma is sleek and seamless. It's an utter beauty. The Uma is also pretty quiet so it's perfect for roommate or family living situations. The Uma is perfect for anyone. It's perfect for people who are new to toys, or someone who owns hundreds of them. The vibrations are perfect for those who are sensitive, and those who require near powerhouse vibrations.

Material / Texture

Uma is made from top of the line material. Uma is made from 100% body safe silicone. Silicone has a tight molecular structure and retains heat. Try to soak silicone toy (make sure it's waterproof) in the warm water before using it to get nice warm feeling. Silicone also doesn't hold dirt and bacteria and doesn't fall apart with extended friction. When using Uma, you should use her with water based lubes. It's the safest for silicone lube. When I first held the Uma, I was so excited and I couldn't stop touching it. It's completely smooth, and doesn't have any lines or edges. The silicone does have a lite drag, but it isn't something that you would have to worry about, but you might have to add an extra dab of lube. The Uma can be used without a condom, and can be use between partners. I'd only recommend using it without a condom when sharing it with a fluid bonded partner. If you aren't I'd highly recommend using a condom.

The silicone doesn't have any type of taste. It does have a smell, but it isn't something awful. When you first take Uma out of her box, she had that new smell. It isn't something that you can smell right away. You would have to press your nose up against it in order to smell it. I just love running my hands up and down the Uma. The slick texture of Uma does allow easy insertion. The lack of texture is perfect for beginners, and advanced alike. The only texture on the Uma is the logo. It isn't something that you will notice when using it, but you do when you are touching it. Uma hold temperature pretty well, I placed Uma in a bowl of hot water, not boiling hot, but microwave hot. Uma held onto that temperature for about 5 minutes or so when I used it, but it quickly warmed up to my body temperature. When I did this and just allowed it to sit out it held the temperature for about 8 minutes before becoming room temperature. The silicone seems to attract lint and hair.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

Uma is wonderfully shaped. The Uma is listed as a G-spot vibrator. One thing I loved about the Uma is that it's shaped to stimulate the g-spot without being too large. I've used and seen other g-spot vibrators that have a slim neck, but they normally have a bulbous head. I know that the larger heads would be better for women who have a deeper g-spot, but personally for me, I don't need that and the Uma is perfect for women like me. The Uma is also perfectly shaped for clitoral stimulation. I've said this before, but this is another reason why I don't hesitate to order a g-spot toy. If it isn't good enough to reach, or stimulate your g-spot, you can use it for clitoral stimulation.

The Uma isn't very large. I thought it was going to be much larger than it actually was. The Uma fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. The Uma is small so you can place her into your bedside table, and she won't take up much room. You can place Uma in your top drawer. Uma can be hidden under your pillow. If you were to place Uma in-between your mattress, she won't cause your mattress to rise. I personally wouldn't put mine in-between the mattress; only because I'm scared I'd sit down or something and break the neck. The Uma is wonderful for traveling. You can place her into your bag without it taking up too much space. When talking about Uma's shape and size, she's perfect for anyone. I wouldn't just recommend her to one group, she's perfect for both. Uma sits perfectly in your hands.

Uma is 7 inches in length, but only about 4 inches are insertable. Uma can be inserted from one end only, that because the opposite end is the controls. The head that is insertable is about 4 1/2 inches around. The smallest part of the Uma, which is the neck, is about 3 inches around. The handle that you use to hold the Uma is about 5 1/2 inches. The texture of the silicone gives you a wonderful grip, so you don't have to worry about losing grip when using it. The length of Uma and her wonderful handle makes thrusting a breeze. The Uma does have rounded ends, so when thrusting you don't have to worry about hurting yourself, or hitting your cervix. Even though it has rounded edges, I'd still recommend using caution.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Okay, so this is where problem number one was for most people. Miss Uma and her darn buttons. I personally was hoping for some reason this would have miraculously change for me. HA! I was wrong. I have to say Uma's buttons can be annoying, and make you want to yell scream. I do love the location of the buttons, and I do love that they added an extra button to the Uma compared to its younger sister Mimi. Uma has three different buttons. The Uma consist of three buttons a "+","-", and a wavy button. The newly introduced wavy button is a dedicated pattern button. When you want to turn on your Uma you have to hold down the "+" button for about 5 seconds. This button also increases the vibration levels. The "-" button decreases the vibration levels, and it also turns it off. The buttons are pretty deep set, so you will have to apply pressure when pressing either one of these buttons.
Sex Toys Shop.
The middle button is the one that is dedicated for the patterns. This button is really hard to press. When you are pressing it, you will need to almost dig your nail into it in order for it to work. You can't just place your finger on it, and press down. If you were to do this it wouldn't work. The button is so pressed in, that when looking at it, it doesn't look like a button. It looks like a design. In order to get to the patters you will first have to press the "+" button to turn it on. Once you are into the patterns, you can press the wavy button to go through the patterns. Using the "+" button when you're in the patterns, it will increase it, and pressing the "-" it will decrease the vibration level.

Uma has 5 levels of vibrations.
1. Rumble
2. Low
3. Medium
4. High
5. Really High

Uma has 7 patterns of vibrations.
1. Fast pulsations
2. Revving
3. Short burst of revving vibration
4. Quick burst of vibration
5. Quick pulsations
6. Deeper throbbing vibration
7. Slow pulsations

Mimi and Uma
Some of Uma's vibrations do seem to be a little rumbly. When inserted, the vibrations are deeply felt. The vibrations are mostly focused on the neck and the head of the Uma, but you can also feel it in the handle. When using Uma on the highest setting for a few minutes, and you turn her off, if gives you this odd sensation in your hands as if the Uma was still on and running. It could also give some people itchy fingers. The Uma is pretty quiet, but it could be quieter. When on the highest setting the vibrations can he herd through the covers, but when the television on you can't hear it through a closed door. The Uma is completely waterproof, so you can take her into the shower or fully submerge her in the bath. The vibration levels aren't died down by the water.

The Uma is rechargeable, so you don't ever have to worry about batteries. The Uma comes with its own matching charger. The charger connects to the Uma magnetically. The placing the Uma onto the charger there is no way to place it on the wrong way. When the charger is plugged into the wall, there is a little blue light to let you know there is power. When the Uma is connect to the charger and is charging, the Uma will blink in a reddish color. When the Uma is fully charged the blinking will stop. Fully charging the Uma takes 2 hours, and when used on the highest setting you can get a good 2 hours of playtime.

Care and Maintenance

Taking care of Uma is pretty easy; because the Uma is made of silicone it can be serialized. Silicone can be boiled, but when it comes to the Uma, I wouldn't recommend boiling her. The only reason is because of Uma's motor. You can place Uma into the dishwasher if you'd like. You can also wash Uma in a 10% bleach solution to sterilize her. You can also just wash her with mild soap and water, or your favorite toy cleaner. You should always wash Uma before and after use. When storing Uma, you can use her box that she came in, or your own storage case. Uma can only be used with water based lubes. If you use anything else, you risk ruining the silicone.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Uma comes inside of a beautiful box. The box is very discreet, and it's really good for gift giving. The outer box of the Uma is the color of the Uma you ordered. The toy is pictured on the back of the box. The box also has information on it in different languages. The package has information on the toy, such as it being waterproof, rechargeable, and has multiple settings. The outside of box of my Uma is a lavender color. When you open the outer box, you'll notice a nice sleek black box, when you take the black box out of the colored one. You'd notice the box doesn't have anything other than the same of the company. The box is a wonderful luxury box, and is really discreet. Once you pull the top off the black box all your goodies are sitting on the inside. Inside of the box is your Uma. The Uma is sitting inside of a hard plastic molding. The molding cannot be removed and holds your toy nicely. Next to the Uma is a little compartment with a little door. Inside of this compartment are the charger and the booklet. The booklet has information on how to use the toy, and how to care for it. The box is made out of a thick cardboard, and it will protect your toy from outside elements.

Experience

When thinking on a consumer view, I would give Uma four stars. This is only because of the button situation. The buttons are very hard to press, and can turn some people off. It's a bit of an annoyance that when changing through the patters, you would have to completely remove the toy, if you're the type to change setting multiple times throughout your sessions. I can see how this would be a problem for you. I personally think the buttons on the Uma are much harder to press then on the Mimi. I'm also giving it 4 stars because of the charger. I don't know if it's because my charger is weird, or is it because it's a magnet. When I place my Uma on the charger it blinks until it's fully charged. I go over to take it off the charger because I think it's done, and I'll move it and it starts blinking again as if it wasn't completely charged. It's kind of odd.

Personally, I give the Uma five stars when it comes to beauty, vibrations, and the all-around quality of the product. The Uma is very beautiful, and will definitely get the job done. I love the strong settings of vibrations, and the shape. The G-spot curve is perfect. I loved using this for clitoral stimulation, and using it to stimulate the clit during sexual intercourse. I also give Uma five stars because the button problem doesn't bother me too much. When using toys, I mostly don't use patterns. When I do use patterns, I normally stick to one, and don't really change them. If I enjoyed changing the patterns, then this would be a major problem. I Just recently moved into my new apartment, and somehow I lost my charger to my Mimi. I soon realized that Uma's charger will also charge your Mimi.

My Uma is always hot. I have not read this in other reviews, but my Uma heats up and does not cool down. As I write this review my Uma is sitting next to me burning up. It's been off the charger for about 20 minutes and it's burning. It isn't warm, it's HOT! It takes about an hour for it to cool off... I'm a little worried it will mess up the motor.

If you're asking about the lifespan of the vibrator, as in, how many years, it's a high quality vibrator and should last for many years, as long as it's well cared for, not overcharged, and depending on how much you use it. If you're asking about how long it will last on a charge, you should read reviews. There should be lots of info in them.

  • Unsteady vibrations
    • I've been reading through the Uma reviews and this is the only reviewer I've noticed talking about a "temperamental motor" and unsteady vibrations that seem to vary not only when pressure is applied but "when they feel like it". Does this user have a defective model or is this something common to the Uma that has just not been noted in other reviews somehow? Has anyone else noted unsteady vibrations in their Uma?

  • Uma vs Gigi
    • Curious about this... if you have both the Gigi and the Uma, can you give a little comparison? I am curious about the almost hook like shape on the Gigi in comparison to the more traditional g-spot head.

      Merci buttocks!

Uma is stronger than Gigi by far. I haven't found any toy that allows me to climax vaginally yet, but I use UMA for external stimulation and am able to climax that way.

  • Uma -vs- Mona
    • Both are similar design, girth and insert-able length. The uma's buttons have been discussed already. So the edge on the control panel goes to Mona. The uma is waterproof though. Who has both and can review them, side by side. I imagine the charge and use time is similar. I suppose it comes down to vibration patterns & strength. What about warranty differences? These toys are so close in every respect.

Ohhhh.... I am keen on this too!!! I've been looking at the Uma and Mona... and I've read all the points you brought up. But I'd love to see them side by side to get more of an idea!!!
    • I like the Mona better. Better controls. The intensity is probably the same

  • Uma buttons
    • hi all! i'm curous about people's thoughts on the button ... i tried them out in a store and my girlfriend and i agreed they seemed a little tough to push. would imagine this is even more of a problem in the heat of things! some of the reviews confirmed my fears on this, but i really love the feel, rumble, and patterns of the uma so i'd love to hear whether or not people think its worth the control issues, and/or if there is a comparable product in anyone's opinion. i should add that i dont find the hook of the g-ki particularly appealing, but perhaps the settings are comparable?
    • From what I've heard, the G-Ki is a bit weaker.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't let the buttons be a deciding factor or issue. They're not an issue to me, and they do "break in" with use. The pattern button is kind of a pain, but I admit, I never use it.

I'm not sure what would be comparable. LELO's Liv is a similar shape, but I don't think the vibrations are the same and it's a bit weaker from what I've heard. The Vanity line is supposed to be deep and rumbly, but it's very different in form in and control (and no patterns). Form 6 has its own issues.

      Thanks, Chirple!

What troubles you about the pattern button? I'm particularly intrigued by the patterns so it would matter to me how user friendly they are.

The Form 6 certainly doesn't have the same wonderful smooth feel as the Uma, but what other thoughts do you have on its comparability to the Uma?

    • Je Joue rocks. I'm getting one of these. Just debating if I'm ordering tomorrow or when the Ran comes back in stock.
