The Io Mini is a discreet, travel-friendly massager, designed primarily with a woman's pleasure in mind. It works best on exterior erogenous zones such as the nipples or clitoral region. Additionally, its waterproof design makes it safe for play in the shower or the bathtub.

The body of the massager is made from a heavyweight, shiny, ABS plastic, while the power button is a stainless silver alloy (metal), and the two removable sleeves are made from bodysafe, hypoallergenic, non-porous silicone. The latter are flexible enough to easily slide over the plastic base, and yet will not stretch out or lose their shape over time. Users can choose between the slick surface of the plastic, a smooth silicone surface that offers a bit more friction, or the nubby sleeve. It's ideal for a beginner or a more advanced user.

This, lightweight, futuristic-looking, palm-sized toy is discreet and easily concealable, measuring only 4.25 inches long and weighing under 3 ounces. Each sleeve is molded to fit over the main unit without slipping off; however, they do not cover the entire surface of the toy, rather 3/4 of it. The upper half of one sleeve is covered in 6 rows of uniformly distributed nubs that wrap around the sleeve diagonally. Whatever seams are visible, barely, are not felt during use. The second sleeve is smooth all over.

The best thing about the Io is how easy it is to use! It's powered by just one AA battery that is easy to insert/remove and provides enough power for most users. One light press of the silver button unlocks 5 different patterns, all delivered at a slightly above-average (yet not mind-blowing) intensity that is on the quieter side. In other words, the frequency of the vibrations are high and buzzy, which may or may not appeal to all users. Holding down the power button cycles through the patterns which are:

~ steady vibration
~ very fast pulsating
~ escalating
~ pulsating
~ repeating series of two longer pulses followed by two quicker ones.

Holding down the power button for 3 seconds at any time will turn off the unit.

Performance was as expected in water, thanks to a tight seal on the battery compartment.

A lint-free storage bag is included (to be found underneath the black foam tray holding the toy). Always store the Io in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight. Use only with water-based lubricants. Clean with warm water and antibacterial soap or an adult toy cleaner. Comes with a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects.

I found the quality of the toy to be higher-end and loved how easy it was to use; however, the intensity wasn't quite strong enough for me, as I prefer more rumbly and much stronger vibrations. All in all, it's still a good quality massager compared to the inexpensive ones out there with the little metal balls on top that get very hot during use. This one didn't.
