Venus butterfly review by California Exotic

Now, I know there are going to be some people who disagree with me on this, but the Venus Butterfly is one of my favorite vibes. Yes, it is a fairly old toy – it isn’t waterproof and it doesn’t have programmed escalation/pulsation settings – but sometimes the oldies are goodies.

I have had mine for almost a year now, using it a couple times a week and it is holding up pretty well. One of the studs holding one of the straps together has popped, but I simply hooked the strap through one of the loops holding the toy to the straps and it works fine. It does go through batteries pretty quick, however I can usually get a good 2 hr session out of it before the battery drain is too noticeable (I always use rechargeable batteries for just such reasons). The kind of vibration it gives out is perfect for me – it isn’t like some of the micro-vibes where, to me, they feel more like a fast tickle than anything – the frequency of the vibrations is lower than other vibrators, so it feels more like a finger moving across the clit with some pressure behind it. It is also very quiet, my husband usually doesn’t even know I am using it, even on a higher setting, unless he puts his hand on my stomach (or lower)

Since I have noticed a lot of people who don’t like this toy, I will explain how I have learned to use it for my maximum pleasure. I don’t walk around with this toy. It is too wide across for comfortable leg movement and the straps will slip. Instead I use this toy to enhance my relaxation and for orgasm without a lot of work. I have learned that unless my clit is really itching for action, I may not get an orgasm out of it, but the happy neurotransmitters are still released. This makes it the perfect toy to use while reading, watching a movie, and doing light paperwork at home – you don’t have to do much in terms of working with it, just adjust the vibrations as needed! I also know that I luckily have a clit that is sensitive enough to get an orgasm, usually a fairly strong one, without much work, which may be why I like this toy so much. All I have to do is lay back with the control box in my hand and let it do all the work (being a “slave” for most scenes, I typically add my collar, nipple clamps and sometimes a ball gag and/or blindfold(s) for those added enhancements). I find additional stimulation when my vagina has something to grab at too, so I almost always use my Smart Balls in conjunction.

In terms of partner play, we have found that it doesn’t work that great to have strapped in place during sex, like I mentioned it is on the bigger side and the butterfly’s tail does stimulate the opening of the vagina (making it hard for other things to be there at the same time). But, Master does like to watch the effects as I shake with enjoyment, ultimately wracked with pleasure. We also found that the vibrations are quite stimulating when used on the head of one’s penis.

In closing, I have grown to love this toy. While I understand it is not for everyone, I really believe if people gave it a little patience, they would come to think of it as their friend too.
