Fluttering monarch - butterfly strap-on vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Glenna1974

I have used several different types of toys in the past but I wanted to try something different. I was excited when I saw the Fluttering Monarch. It's made by California Exotic. I was hoping I could use this with my boyfriend as a couples toy, but it was mainly marketed as a female product. But, I decided to order it anyway and see what happened.

The material was very soft to the touch, and very smooth. Connected to the toy was the elastic waist band/leg strap that keeps the toy in place during use. The elastic straps can be adjusted to fit perfectly for any size. The downside to this is that it's hard to figure out if you're a first time user of a strap on toy such as this. It does not come with instructions, so it is hard to figure out at first. The Fluttering monarch also runs off 3 AA batteries (which are not included... bummer). The remote can be set to different levels of intensity including a slow, medium, and fast setting. The fluttering monarch is made of a pink TPR material that is hypo-allergenic and phthalates-free, so that is really nice. Overall, this toy is really light and only weighs 0.5 pound. It also has a length of 2.5 inches and a width of about 5 inches.

It had a large strap that went around my waist, and 2 smaller straps that fit around my thighs. My boyfriend helped me strap it on and then took the control. He started with the lowest level and worked up from there. This vibe is pretty intense on the highest setting, so it may work best to move through the settings one by one. On a side note, the vibe can be extremely loud. It is not too distracting, but it may be able to be heard through a door. This is something you might want to check out if others are around.

I really liked the fact that this vibe stayed in place during use. It was really easy to work around this toy for oral stimulation. He was able to use his tongue and hands freely, without having to hold the vibe in place. The tip of the vibrator stimulated my clit. This worked very well. As my clit was being stimulated, he could use oral stimulation in other places.

This is an amazing toy and I'm so glad I ordered it. My boyfriend loves it too, and he's not one that was ever fond of using toys. He used to think if I used a toy it is because he didn't do a very good job in the bedroom. For years I've tried to explain to him that it just heightens things and takes things to a new level. Now he understands what I meant.

The next time we wanted to see how it would work during intercourse. I was afraid it would be in the way. I was happy to find that it actually worked quite well after all. I had to reposition the toy a little higher so he had room to slide in. It still vibrated my clit nicely, and he said he could feel the vibrations the entire time. I had no idea it would work so well for couples, but I'm glad it does!

The cleanup for the Fluttering monarch was pretty easy. All you need to do is wash it off with a toy cleaner, or mild soap and warm water. It can be a little tricky trying to keep the straps from getting wet, but they dry quickly.

This toy worked once, but then the straps broke and it is not able to be fixed. The straps need to be stronger or made a little thicker. I would not recommend this toy.
