G-spot vibrator discontinued

Wait! What is that slimy stuff on my brand new toy?

Crystal's Jelly vibrator is compact and ready for travel. Only requiring two AA batteries makes it easy to use as well as the multi-speed control dial. However, the sticky and slimy film found on the toy when brand new is odd and required a thorough clean before use could even be considered. Safety is a big issue with any jelly toy so be sure to keep that in mind before sharing.

I consider myself an experienced toy user and have a very versatile collection. I can honestly say that never once have I received a new toy and felt somewhat grossed out after taking it out of the package. That is, until this toy arrived. Now, I don't know what it was but there was a very old film all over the surface. It was sticky and slimy at the same time. It stayed on your hand even after the toy was put down. After washing my hands I decided to try to clean the film off using both a toy cleaner and plain old soap and water, which did work. I have no explanation as to what it was though. I have several toys made out of the jelly material and never had this issue, so your guess is as good as mine.

Once it was thoroughly clean, my next thought about the Crystal's jelly-G vibe was that the construction didn't look like it would last long. The wire that attaches the control dial to the toy isn't that secure and may easily come detached after rigorous play. So far, it's held up but I haven't really pushed the toy to its limits. Taking the filmy texture it had when I received it into consideration; I assume it will break down over time. I could be wrong but this was the impression I had after inspecting the toy from tip to controls. My advice would be not to count on this toy being a friend for years to come.

The issues above aside, the vibrator does perform well. The dial offers a few different speeds so you can set the toy to the right level for you. It isn't too loud and when set on high it can pack a good punch for the size and style. It did lead me to an orgasm but I didn't experience a G-spot orgasm with this toy. Despite the shape and intention with the toy, it just didn't cut it for me. I think it had something to do with how flexible it is. Maybe that's just me though. Because of the smaller size and texture I didn't need to use any lubrication with Crystal's Jelly but water-based lube is safe to use. According to the information provided with the toy, water-based lubes shouldn't break down the material so if you would be more comfortable using something then go right ahead.

Overall, this toy didn't make a big impression on me. It had nothing that made it stand out from other toys in a good way but did make its mark in a negative light with the filmy texture. Not exactly a great first impression in my book. The power was fine but I actually enjoy something stronger. Since its intended purpose of G-spot stimulation wasn't met I probably won't turn to this toy very often. I may not even keep it depending on how my next few sessions go.
Experience
You may have noticed on this toy's main page the level two safety rating. This is something you should really pay attention to. It doesn't mean the toy itself is unsafe, it just means because of the jelly material this toy cannot be shared with out using a condom. Jelly is very porous so it absorbs bacteria like a sponge. If this was to be shared with another person without protection it could become unsafe. I would also recommend using a condom if you plan to use the toy for anal. Since this material can't be sterilized (no boiling in water!) you have to be very conscious of safety. This is something to keep in mind using any toy made out of the same material as Crystal's Jelly vibrator.

Gross. It does look a little, well, little for good G-spot stim. Thanks for talking about jelly concerns.

Ewww! Nice work on getting past the goo and trying it out. Made me think of Bill Murray in Ghostbusters. "He slimed me." If I got a toy like that, I might try it out, but I would be too concerned with continued decay of the material to keep it around long term. Thanks for the informative and useful review (warning).

    Jimbo Jones,

Your point about the continued break down of the material was the frist thing that came to mind after the gross out factor. I don't plan to keep it around long term. As I said in my review, I may toss it out in the very near future. I just haven't decided exactly when yet. I don't trust that it will last at all.
