Wanachi "Middle Ground" Vibrator

The Wanachi Mini is a great "middle ground" clitoral vibrator. It is a step above a vibrator that needs watch batteries, but below rechargeable high quality ones. You basically get what you pay for; it's worth about $17 worth of pleasure. It gets the job done really well, but there are some aspects of it that I wish were different.

Use

As told on the box, the Wanachi Mini is for external use only. It will stimulate the clitoris, nipples, and other erogenous zones safely. If you are curious as to what happens when used internally, it is not good. I got a little carried away one time, and I thought, "Hey it is silicone and plastic, and those are body-safe materials so what could go wrong?". I used it internally and it was great, and my body didn't have a reaction. The problem was the next time I used it: The silicone had broken down and when I flexed the head slightly, the silicone completely ripped off and the head of the vibrator was only holding on by internal wiring. I was shocked that one internal use completely destroys the vibrator, so if you get this vibe, DON'T DO IT! This vibe can only be used externally, whether its clitoral and nipple stimulation during your next solo session, or having some added fun with your partner. When it comes to massaging other parts of the body such as the back, I would say it would only be good for a really focused massage. I find that the long handle makes it a little awkward to move around the entire back during a massage, and it would probably be better to use it to put pressure along with vibrations on knots in muscle tissue.

The package says it's waterproof, but I noticed a lot of seams on the product, so I was personally pretty reluctant to put it in the water... I took the plunge and brought it into the shower and had no problems! It did break before I was able to try and submerge it in the bath tub, so I am not entirely sure if it is submersible.

Material / Texture

The Wanachi mini is made of plastic (the base) and silicone (the white middle and the head). The plastic base is your typical shiny, sturdy plastic. The silicone is soft and flexible, and allows for slight angling of the head (I would say between 30-45 degrees in any direction). The silicone head doesn't have too much give to it, which may be a good thing if you like to apply firm, even pressure. The silicone on the head is a more dense silicone, so it is very firm. I actually mistook it for hard rubber at first. The silicone material on the head does not attract lint at all, but I found that the white silicone neck attracted way more dust and lint. Like I explained above, the white silicone is definitely not 100% silicone, so it will break down if used internally. If you only use this vibe for its intended use externally, then you should have no problems with the material. I did notice that it has some seams, and that made me pretty nervous about bringing it to the shower, but it held up okay.

According to EdenFantasys' material safety meter, this vibe's material safety rating was given an 8/10 because it is made of plastic (8/10) and silicone (10/10). These are great materials in a toy and I would highly recommend stocking your toy stash with higher material safety numbers like these.

Out of the package, the vibe smells like your typical plastic smell when held right under the nose. The vibe also has a little bit of heft to it; it's not heavy, but not lightweight either. It definitely feels like a sturdy vibrator that wouldn't break if it would accidentally fall to the ground. I would recommend this vibe for beginners who are trying to find what they like.

Design / Shape / Size

Personally, I think this vibrator is really long for something that can only be used externally; it is 7 inches long. I also feel that the length of this vibe becomes somewhat bothersome when using this to massage other areas in the body as it just gets in the way. The Wanachi mini probably is so long because it requires AA batteries, so it needs a bigger hub to hold them.

The design is very sleek and is a very classic "wand vibrator" look and feel to it. The head is a 2 inch long cylindrical shape with rounded edges and has a diameter of 1.25in, or a little bigger than a quarter. The neck of the vibe is very flexible, and it makes it very hard to get a good, even pressure if you are holding it near the control dial. The pressure is more stable if you hold it near the head. Because of the design and length of it, it is not that easy to hide.

The best hiding places for it I have found are the bottom of my purse, a shoe box tucked away in a corner of the closet or under the bed, or at the bottom of a drawer that will accommodate its length. It is not necessarily suited for travel because of how big it is and it has no locking controls.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Wanachi mini is controlled by a little plastic wheel at the base. It is pretty simple to figure out: turn the wheel until it turns on and keep turning to turn up the intensity. The wheel has grooves that help you turn it, but it doesn't have a grip to it. If your hands are covered in lube, it may be a little difficult to turn the wheel. Unfortunately it does not have a locking feature. If you want insurance that it will not go off in your purse, you will have to unscrew the base and take the batteries out. It's kind of a pain, but amusing at the same time, because I felt like I was disassembling a small gun so it wouldn't "go off" in my purse.

Turning the wheel will activate the motor inside the head. The vibrations are centrally located within the entire head of the vibe, but because the shaft is plastic, it will carry some of the vibrations. When using this vibe for long periods of time, you may find that your hands will start to go a little numb from the vibrations that carried throughout the plastic. The vibrations are more "buzzy", really close together, and high intensity. This vibe is very quiet to start out with, but as the intensity gets higher, so does the sound. The wheel is the only control, so it is very easy to use, and convenient enough that it is still within reach.

This vibe starts out pretty quiet, about 1 bes on the EdenFantasys' noise scale on the lowest level. As you turn the wheel on this vibe more, it will gradually get louder and up to 3 bees on full blast. On full blast, it can be slightly heard behind a closed door in a relatively quiet house/apartment/dorm. In the shower it can't really be heard behind a closed bathroom door because the sound of the water drowns out most of the noise.

This vibrator is very powerful. If I want to come in under five minutes, I put this on max and right on my clit. Yep, it is that powerful. There is really no difference between how it performs in the bedroom and how it performs in the shower. It doesn't use up too much battery life and will last a while, but when it does, it will just all of a sudden not work for you. Keep extra batteries nearby.

Care and Maintenance

This toy isn't the best to care for. It can be cleaned with a toy cleaner or warm water and a natural soap, but the seams in the plastic and grooves in the silicone made this a bit of a stretch to clean. In order to clean it fully, I had to take it apart (here I am, taking it apart like a gun again) to get into the seams of the plastic, and when it came to the white silicone part, I had to bend it in different directions to really get into the grooves of it. The plastic can also be sanitized with isopropyl alcohol or a disinfecting wipe. This isn't rocket science to clean, but it could be easier.

Since I have unfortunately seen what happens to the material when used internally, I would not recommend storing this toy adjacent to other toys that you use internally, just in case. Because it has a silicone head and neck, a water-based lube is the only lube that should be used to prevent material break down. And have some batteries nearby to avoid the frustrating "I'm-horny-but-vibe-is-dead" situation.

Packaging

The toy comes in a pretty box that shows a picture of the toy on the front, so the packaging itself isn't very discreet. I wouldn't recommend storing it in the box.

Personal comments

Personally, I would not buy this vibrator again, but this is a great beginner vibe, and it is definitely worth the $17. It is very powerful and is really great at clitoral stimulation. It is great for solo play and for beginners to toys who want to bring toys into their sex life with their partner. During sex, this vibe is great for holding it on the clit while in doggy style or cowgirl.
Follow-up commentary
After this vibe broke (because of my own doing) I decided to buy another one and treat it right. This vibe is pretty limited as far as options go, and because I have experienced higher quality vibrators, this vibe does not compare. If you want to try out vibrators and you are a beginner, go ahead and get this vibe. If you are looking for a reliable vibe to last you for awhile, it's better to go with a higher quality toy.
