The Tattoo vibrator from Papaya Toys is a beauty. With its bulbous head, the Tattoo can be used effectively for clitoral and labial stimulation. It’s also pleasing when inserted vaginally, and the raised tattoo designs on the sides provide some light stimulation to vaginal walls. This is a traditional vibrator, so it doesn’t have a curve for g-spot stimulation.

The Tattoo will work well for any user, although those who prefer a smaller girth will enjoy this more externally. It should not be used anally due to its shape and lack of a flared base, but the round tip can be used for external male stimulation as well.

The Tattoo is made from medical grade silicone. It is non-porous, phthalates-free, latex free, and hypoallergenic. It has no scent or taste, and is silky smooth to touch. There is no noticeable seam to mar the toy.

My Tattoo is a lovely plum color (called grape) from tip to toe, with the exception of a blue-gray band which separates the cap from the base and provides the waterproof seal. The Tattoo sports raised designs on each side which add light internal stimulation. The texture is great for users of any level who enjoy mild ridges.

I love the design of this vibrator. It is 9” long with 5 1/2" insertable, and it has a maximum of just over 1 1/2" in diameter. It's larger and more filling than many other vibrators I’ve tried.

The head is shaped like a ball. It has a diameter of 1 1/2", and is about 1 1/2" long. It’s soft and flexible, as compared to the rigid body of the vibrator. The Tattoo indents to about 1 1/4" wide just under the head, and then increases back to about 1 5/8" diameter. The Tattoo is fairly heavy – it feels substantial in your hand as well as when inside you.

The base tapers down, and the control button is located on the front side.

The Tattoo is suitable for travel, and is probably better in checked luggage. I would make sure to remove the batteries beforehand so it doesn’t turn on in your suitcase, as the power button doesn’t require much pressure to start this toy.

The Tattoo comes with a small information sheet which explains how to use the toy and insert the batteries. The base unscrews easily, and the circular battery holder pops out to hold 2 AA batteries. They are easy to load into the holder.

The vibration functions are controlled by a small bowtie-shaped button on the base. Pressing the left side of the bow-tie once turns the Tattoo on, and then pressing it again changes the function.

The Tattoo sports 3 vibration functions: pulse, low to high vibration followed by four short pulses, and constant vibration. The intensity of the vibrations can be changed by pressing the on the left side of the button and holding down. Pressing and holding on the right side of the button decreases the vibrations.

The vibrations are strongest at the tip, but transfer nicely down the entire shaft. The Tattoo can be turned off no matter what mode it’s in by pressing the right side of the button once.

A fantastic feature that the Tattoo has, that most vibrators do not, is its memory. It remembers what speed and function were being used when it was turned off, and it goes back to this setting when it’s turned on again. I love this!

The Tattoo is waterproof, and can be safely used in the shower or tub. It didn’t seem to have any problems with water getting into the battery compartment. Due to its size, however, it's easier to use when reclining.

This vibrator is somewhat noisy. It's louder than my cell phone on vibration mode. In the shower with running water, under the covers, or with background music on, it's not so noticeable, but use it in a quiet room and you'll know it's on.

Since the Tattoo is made from silicone, it is easy to care for. The manufacturer recommends cleaning it with soap and water before and after each use.

The Tattoo can be stored in or out of its box (unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a storage bag). Because the base is tapered the Tattoo cannot be stored standing up. It should never be stored near or connecting with toys of other materials like jelly or rubber.

Since the Tattoo cannot be sterilized, a condom should always be used if sharing this toy. Only water-based lubricants should be used. A small amount will do, as the lube will glide over the surface of this toy.

The Tattoo comes in a pink and plum box. It is visible inside through the front window, and is held in place by plastic. Instructions and information are on the box in German and English.

From the moment I saw the Tattoo in the box, I knew I was going to love it. I particularly love the head, and it works well for both clitoral and vaginal stimulation. I also love the thickness of the Tattoo. It’s very filling, and that helps the raised designs on its sides stimulate. The texture isn’t much, but it’s enough to be felt and it feels good.

The Tattoo is surprisingly powerful for using just 2AA batteries. The battery life has been decent (I haven’t used rechargeable batteries, only standard ones). I really like the memory feature! I don't cycle through settings a lot with my toys, and it's great to be able to set this how I want it so I can just turn it on and be ready to go.

My husband’s only complaint about this vibrator Is that the base is difficult to grasp when thrusting, particularly if you get lube on it. He enjoyed this one as well, on one of the lower settings, when I tried it out on his more sensitive spots.
