Material / Texture

If you like glitzy toys, you'll love the Heart's Desire. It's made of translucent lavender TPR with silver glitter all through it. The glitter is *in* the TPR and not on it though, so it looks cool but you don't have to worry about it coming off. For those of you who remember the 80's, it's just like those glittery jelly shoes that the girls wore.

The TPR is very smooth and flexible, and contains no latex or phthalates. Best of all, it doesn't smell like most TPR toys do... as a matter of fact, it doesn't smell at all! And though it isn't sticky, the material will snag hair and drag against the skin if used without lube, so that's something to keep in mind.

The vibrating bullet is made of hard ABS plastic, which is also body-safe and odorless.

Design / Shape / Size

The back (or top) side is roughly heart-shaped, convex, with a small raised pattern of roses on it. Whether you have small hands or large, it seems to nestle into the palm so it's easy to hold no matter which way you turn it. Lube usually makes smaller toys slippery and difficult to control, but again, this curved design makes it easy.

On the under side, a center sleeve about 1" wide holds the vibrating bullet, and has tiny flexible nubs along it that are meant to add extra stimulation during use. Unfortunately, we didn't notice any added sensations with these, even when applied directly along the labia or scrotum. The end of the sleeve angles gracefully into a rounded protrusion that's perfect for direct clitoral stimulation, and also does wonders for the male perineum.

The hearts lobes from this side are hollow, allowing them to flex and move when you have the toy nestled over the labia.

The vibrating bullet is 3-3/4" long overall, with about an inch of this protruding from the end of the toy so you can unscrew it and insert the battery. This is a good thing, because although you can remove the bullet if need be, it's certainly not easy. The sleeve that holds it is very tight, and when you combine that with the fact that the TPR sucks to it, well... Let's just say it's really difficult to do. The good part is, you'll probably never actually need to remove the bullet unless you decide to replace it, and with a little lube it slides back in the sleeve easily.

As for discretion, from the backside this toy looks so benign that you could probably leave it out in plain view without any problems. The underside might raise some questions though, so be ready to explain that it's for hooking over a sore shoulder if you plan to leave it out. It's a bit large to drop inside a crowded purse, but wouldn't be difficult at all to find space for in a drawer or travel bag.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Powered by one AAA battery (not included), there is a single push button on the end of the bullet that cycles through the settings; On, 1st speed, 2nd speed, Off. We found the button to be a little hard to push, so we had a few moments during play where we had to stop and be sure we'd actually clicked it (the toy will pause between clicks).

The first vibration level is gentle enough for sensitive users and will serve as a pleasant teaser for others, while the second level is fairly strong, so it would likely please most people. The vibes are concentrated on the clitoral nub and the center shaft and become slightly gentler through the side lobes. It provides a buzzy sensation that you can feel over a larger area of skin than you are actually touching, and the toy is very quiet compared to most. You might be able to hear it through your bed covers, but not from across the room.

Care and Maintenance

Any water-based lube can be used with this toy, and you will find that a little goes a long way!

After use, simply wash it with antibacterial soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. Take care to rub along the nubs and the insides of the heart's lobes while washing it. This toy cannot be boiled, bleached or otherwise sterilized.

Packaging

The Hearts Desire Teaser comes wrapped in a plastic bag inside of a white "hang tag" cardboard box that features a life-size photo of the toy on the front, and a color scheme that leans toward the jazzy feminine. There are no instructions, but since there's really no "wrong" way to use the toy that shouldn't be an issue if common sense is applied. There is a slip of paper inside that shows you which way to insert the battery though.

If you cut off the hang tag part at the top, the box would be easy to wrap for gift giving and could be used for storage. However, it's about twice the size needed to hold the toy, so if you're tight on space it might be easier to find somewhere else to keep it.

Experience

Alan says:
I prefer this toy in the bathtub, though I can't really pinpoint why. It has something to do with the way the vibrations travel I guess. Anyway, for me it feels best on high speed with the protrusion against my perineum and the rest of the toy nestled against my testicles. That alone won't get me off, but it really adds to the pleasure when combined with a handjob or bj.

Michele says:
Since I normally only like strong clitoral vibrators I'm surprised at how much I like this toy. Not that this is super weak or anything, but even on high speed I'd describe it only as medium-strong. Still, I'm finding that with patience I can achieve the "big O" with it, and it's actually *very* enjoyable along the way even though it takes awhile.

We first used it during foreplay, and I found that I love it as a nipple stimulator. It's also awesome when we're making out and he holds the convex side over my labia--- it covers a wide area and goes a long way towards getting the juices flowing. To be honest, we couldn't really figure out how it was meant to be positioned, so we tried a little bit of everything.
If the nub part is positioned against my clit with the rest of the toy going down between my legs, I can't feel the heart's lobes unless we rock it side to side a little. Then it *really* feels good, and I can manage to come that way. Positioned with the nub nestled in the entrance to the vagina with the shaft part going up over my clit area though, I simply can't get enough stimulation to come no matter what.

All in all I'd recommend this toy to pretty much anyone though, simply because there's so many potential ways to enjoy it.
