With A Name Like Isis...

The Isis is a good, versatile finger vibe for those who don't need a lot of power. It's rechargeable and discreet, but it has weak, buzzy vibrations. It's a nice finger vibrator for the price for those who don't mind moderate vibrations.

Use

...you'd think that it'd be fit for a goddess, right? Well.. unfortunately not. The Isis vibe is a well designed clitoral simulator, specifically designed for younger women. Emotional Bliss has done research, "7 years and a sizable investment of over £1,000,000" worth of research, according to their site, about exactly how much vibrations and heat a woman needs to orgasm. According to the research, younger women (18-30)typically need 80 Hz of power to orgasm. I definitely fit within this age group, but sadly, the Isis just did not work for me. I couldn't orgasm with this vibrator.

The Isis comes with three finger sleeves, S M and L, and can be used for pin point stimulation for the clitoris. It can also be used on the labia, nipples, and really all over the body. It is not meant for insertion, however. It can be used for masturbation or for clitoral stimulation during partner sex. It's small and quite ergonomic.

Material / Texture

The Isis is made from plastic, which is tasteless and odorless. It's nonporous and pthalate free! The colored part is made from rubber, which has a slight smell. The rubber is latex free. They take out the latex during production, which is great for those with latex allergies. There is an antimicrobial aspect to this vibrator, which is great! It makes clean up a breeze. Only a cloth and water are needed! Unfortunately, the plastic is somewhat porous.

There is a slight ribbed texture, which is nice, but not very noticeable, especially with a bit of lube. The rubber is quite smooth and not at all tacky.

Design / Shape / Size

The Isis is quite well designed. The finger sleeves (plastic) are nice and the three sizes will fit a wide range of fingers. They are a bit stiff and I'm worried about them cracking. So far, though, mine has held up well.

The bullet portion is very small. It's only about 2.5 in. in length. It's great for using during partner sex and convenient to use with an internal vibrator as well. It connects to the finger sleeve with a small little bump that's quite easy figure out.

Unfortunately, the Isis is not waterproof. The charging jack is left uncovered at the back of the vibrator. However, the Isis is a well designed vibrator otherwise. It is a little bit stiff, being made of plastic, but the size makes it very versatile. It also makes it very discreet and easy to hide! It can not be locked for travel, so I would not advise travelling with this while charged!

Functions / Performance / Controls

I felt that the vibrations on Isis were a bit of a let down. It's only one speed, 80 Hz. It's turned on by pressing one button on the back of it. One click for on, one for off. It's very simple and easy to press. The vibrations on the Isis aren't very strong and they're very buzzy. I think the strength of the vibrations isn't the problem, it's the buzziness. The vibrations are surface vibrations that aren't penetrating enough for me. Pressing down on it actually makes the vibrations feel weaker instead of stronger.

The Isis is also quite loud. It can definitely be heard through covers, though probably not through a closed door. It's loud without the finger attachment, but the added plastic of the finger attachment makes it louder and more rattly. It's a loud, buzzy sound.

The nice thing about the Isis is that it is rechargeable! You plug the charger into the port on the Isis's backside and plug it into the wall. It holds a charge for about 2-3 hours according to the book. In my personal experience, I've found that the Isis keeps its charge for closer to three. I don't use mine very often, but I go a long time without having to charge it.

Care and Maintenance

The Isis can not be sterilized or submerged in water. However, cleaning is very easy. Because of the antimicrobial properties of the rubber, the Isis can be cleaned by simply wiping it with a damp cloth. It does have a few seams that are a pain in the butt to clean and can't be cleaned thoroughly. The finger attachments can be submerged in water though.

The Isis should be compatible with water and silicone lubes. I only own water based lube, so I have not tested this with silicone lubes. No special care needs to be taken with storage. It's quite easy to store, being so small.

Personal comments

I'm not sure about the research behind the younger/older women difference. Personally, I'm under 30, but I can't even come close to orgasming with this. But I also know that based on my own anatomy, I need more clitoral stimulation to orgasm. I also find that deeper vibrations, more rumbly ones, work better for me. If you are more sensitive to vibrations, regardless of age, then you will find that this may work for you. It's a cute little thing and quite convenient to use. But for those looking for a bit more power, I'd suggesting looking at the Chandra, it's 'older sister' vibe.
