This was my first vibrator, and a choice I would make differently now. This isn't a toy I would recommend to others as an introduction to sex toys. The first things I noticed when taking it out of the box was that the toy had a strong plastic/rubber smell, and that it was larger than I had expected. Nearly 2 years later, the plastic smell is still very noticeable, so I would not recommend this toy to anyone sensitive to smells. The material, jelly, also seems to have picked up some discoloration or stains from being stored in a bag with other toys. The stains will not go away no matter how I clean it. After reading up on the best way to clean this material, I learned that jelly toys can not be sanitized. Even though I do not share my toys, this would be enough to change my mind about purchasing the Lucid dream 14, or other toys made of the same material, again.
The vibrator has an insertable length of 7", with the vibrating bullet located in the curved head portion. The body of the vibrator is mostly rigid with a little bit of give in the neck. This toy is firm enough to feel good even without the vibrations! It feels like a slightly flexible rubber/ plastic hybrid, much harder than other jelly toys I've seen. The head is curved to put pressure and vibrations on the G-spot, but the size and shape sometimes makes insertion difficult for me. With the right angle, the Lucid dream 14 is shaped perfectly to hit my G-spot, but this angle is much easier for me to find with a partner. It is still a satisfying toy for solo play, and it's helped me learn to give myself a G-spot orgasm. But I generally prefer a smaller and more flexible toy to use on my own.
The vibrations are controlled by a dial at the base of the toy, and go smoothly from low to high, all without making much noise. The strong vibrations are surprisingly powerful and very good for G-spot or clitoral stimulation, and concentrated almost entirely in the head of the vibrator containing the bullet.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it4 months after original review
This toy hardly sees any use anymore - it only ever did when I had no other toys for penetration. It just doesn't fit my body well, and it's hard to use solo. Over a year after purchase, it still has an offputting rubbery smell, and has picked up some discoloration either from the other toys I store it with or the bag I keep them in. I haven't seen this happen to any of my other toys, so I have doubts about the material of the Lucid Dream no. 14. Still not a fan, and I won't be buying any other toys from this line.
