Wormy Makes Me Squirmy!

The Little Paul is a luxury, German-made vibrator that is well worth the price. The rigidity of the plastic core beneath the thick, plush silicone, combined with the squishiness of the head, make it perfect for thrusting, and Paul's ribbing provides gentle, textured simulation. It works well as a clit vibe too, and it is strong and fairly quiet. You can't go wrong with a toy that is rechargeable, waterproof, and multispeed with three pulsating patterns. This worm will make you squirm!

Use

Fun Factory's Minivibe Little Paul Click 'n' Charge has quickly become a favorite of mine! It is a discreet massager, and can be used externally or internally, but should not be used anally due to the lack of a flared base. It will get lost, and it will result an embarrassing trip to the ER. According to the box, you should also avoid putting it in your ear or up your nose. Why that is necessary to mention, I don't know.

Fun Factory markets them as "seducers of a special kind," and "a must-have for anyone whose passion knows no limits!" This toy should work well for most anyone, but especially those with more shallow G-spots or who prefer strong, rumbly vibrations. Also this should work well for those who prefer their toys to be rechargeable, waterproof, and 100% silicone. The Little Paul is all of these things and more!

This is great for solo play, but not as great for couples. I love to use this toy on my own, but because of the lack of a handle, it can be a little hard for someone else to maneuver. It can get awkward. However the cute, non-phallic design may be less intimidating than other toys. I'll give it that.

The worm's head looks like it is meant to put pressure on the G-spot when used vaginally, however it has quite a bit of give. The toy is ribbed, which provides a gentle, but interesting texture. You could use a rocking motion to prod the G-spot with the head of the toy, but it works better for thrusting because of the rigid core and squishy head that is gentle on the cervix.

You could also use it externally on the clitoris. The worm's head is soft and squishy and transmits vibrations well. Try hooking the head on your clitoris, and tugging on it gently, pulling it towards you. You could just run circles around your clit with the head of the toy, alternating between clockwise and counter-clockwise. Rubbing your clit with the head is always pleasurable. My personal favorite is to tap my clit with the toy. I can do this without discomfort, because the head of the toy has a lot of give.

This toy can be used not only on a bed, but in the water too. It is absolutely waterproof and should be lots of fun in the bath or shower...maybe even the hot tub or the pool! This also means it can be soaked in warm water for a bit of temperature play. However you use it, Little Paul is lots of fun!

It is travel-friendly because, although it does not have a locking feature, it will not turn on when bumping around in a bag. You have to hold the (+) button for a couple of seconds to turn it on. It is small, fairly portable, and looks inconspicuous as well as cute.

Material / Texture

The handle is plastic, as is the core of the toy, but the insertable portion is 100% Fun Factory silicone which rates a 10/10 on the Eden safety scale. Silicone is smooth and nonporous which means it doesn't harbor bacteria. It also doesn't fall apart over time or with extended friction. Silicone is known for being water repellent, and while this toy vibrates, it happens to be completely waterproof. It's fairly easy to clean, which I will go over later.

This particular brand of silicone is very interesting. It's very thick, plushy, and squishy, and has a bit more drag than other brands of silicone. While, for example, LELO toys are velvety and smooth, this has almost a rubbery feel, maybe a little sticky. It definitely picks up hair and lint, more so than my other silicone toys. It would likely be very bendy if not for the hard plastic core that lends to its rigidness. The head has a lot of give, however. I particularly like the Fun Factory silicone, but it is a matter of preference. It doesn't have a taste or a smell. You may need to use lube with this toy, because it has so much drag.

The texture on it is very subtle. I would say it would work well for beginners or advanced users. The bulging rings on the Little Paul definitely add extra stimulation, though it is not overwhelming. It slides in and out easily when inserted. I don't think it would offend even the most sensitive users. If you are looking for bulges that will stretch you and pop in and out rather than slide, you may want to check out the Minivibe Bubbles, also by Fun Factory. I have heard it is a more extreme texture. If you want something more intense, then I would suggest trying something more rigid, like the Ella. This is more of a gentle stimulation and is better suited to thrusting than G-spotting. I am not overly sensitive, but I find the Little Paul is just right for me.

    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The design of Little Paul works quite wonderfully. It is shaped like a little, green worm or caterpillar. I like to think it is a worm, as I am allergic to caterpillars! It has cute little eyes and a big smile, which I find to be absolutely darling. The texture of the face is not noticeable in use. However, if toys with faces freak you out, you may want to look for something else. It is fairly compact compared to other insertable toys. It is 5 and 1/2 inches long, with 4 and 1/4 of that being insertable. The diameter of the toy is 1 and 1/4, so not too intimidating, and perfect for those with shallower G-spots. The size is just about perfect for me, and I would recommend it to nearly anyone. It is perfect for beginners and advanced users alike. Since it is small, it would be easy to hide, but why would you want to? It's just so cute! The design is definitely whimsical and discreet.

It is fairly straight, and does not have a G-spot curve. It provides gentle pressure, nothing too intense. This can be a pro or a con, depending on the person. The body of the toy has ridges for extra stimulation and pleasure. I find this quite enjoyable, and not overwhelming. The head of the toy is hooked to provide G-spot stimulation, but since it has so much give in the head, it doesn't provide the pressure I usually like. Alternatively, the squishy head is amazing on the clit! I prefer to use it this way. I believe the design still works well though, especially for people who don't like putting hard pressure on their G-spots, or those who prefer to use it for clitoral stimulation. It is also great for thrusting, since it won't bruise the cervix.

It doesn't have much of a handle, however, which can make it a bit difficult to use, especially with a partner. There's not much to grab on to. It can tire the wrist and hand after a bit. This is a drawback for me.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Little Paul has deep vibrations that are quite rumbly, but buzzier than my LELO toys. Paul is a bit stronger, however. I put it at a solid 4 vrooms and debated putting it higher, but the next level is "too intense for most," and I think most people can enjoy this vibe and its vibration levels. The toy has "strong and easily felt vibrations that powerfully stimulate, but are not earth shaking." It is quite strong. However it starts off very low, so even beginners who need something gentler will enjoy this vibe. The vibrations are located in the body of the toy, just above the controls. It is hard to tell though, since the toy transmits vibrations very well even to the tip. The vibrations are fairly uniform throughout. It has three patterns, and I like them all, though I rarely use them. I prefer more constant vibration.

The toy has a plus (+) button and a minus (-) button. To power on the toy, you need to hold down the (+) button. It will take a second or two to power on. Pressing it quickly and releasing does not do anything, so if it gets bumped, it will not just turn on. It does not have a locking feature. Holding down the (+) will start it on the lowest level, and it will continue to ramp up the intensity quickly until you release it. It's easy to go too far, but holding down the (-) button will decrease the intensity. Once the toy is on, you can press and release either the (+) or (-) button to increase or decrease respectively, meaning you don't have to hold it down. You can make small adjustments to the intensity this way.

The lowest speed is a light, fluttery vibration that is great for teasing or for beginners. I put it at 1 vroom and 1 bee. The highest speed is 4 vrooms and 2 bees, and it should be able to get most people off. There are a variety of speeds in between the two, but it is hard to differentiate between them. I cannot hear this toy through a closed door, even on high.

Once you are at the highest speed, you can press and hold the (+) to get into the patterns. Pressing and releasing it quickly will not do anything, you must hold it down. There are three patterns. The first is BZZzzz BZZzzz BZZzzz. The second is BZzz BZzz BZzz BZzz. The third is Bzz Bzz Bzz Bzz Bzz. They all pulsate and increase in frequency each time. To switch patterns, press and release the (+) button. You do not need to hold it down. Once you cycle through all the patterns, it will start you at the first pattern again. It will continue to do this as long as you keep pressing the (+). All it takes to return to a steady vibration from any of the three patterns is a press of the (-) button. Again, you do not have to hold it down, but if you do, it will start decreasing the intensity. Holding down the (-) until it is at the very lowest speed, and then tapping the (-) button will shut it all the way off. You must do the "double tap," or it will continue to run on the very lowest speed until it runs out of charge.

There is a bit of a learning curve for the controls, as they can be a little confusing. I never know if I need to hold down a button, or press and release it. I usually hold it down all the time when I use the toy, just for good measure, but for the sake of the review, I tested the controls. You should now know when to press and when to hold, though a little time with the toy is really helpful. I would not say the controls are easy to use, at least at first.

This toy is completely waterproof! There are no holes for water to get into, since it charges magnetically. It uses the click n' charge system, which I love. Many people complain about it being difficult to use, but I have not had problems. To charge the toy, you align the FUN logo on the toy with the FUN logo on the charger. Make sure it is facing the right direction. It should stick together nicely. Then set it gently on a flat surface and plug the charger into the outlet. The logo should be glowing red. Leave it be until the charger stops glowing, and you should have a full charge! It takes longer to charge than some of my other toys, I think, but it lasts longer too.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is easy to care for. Since it is a lint magnet, you may want to clean it before and after use. When you go to clean it, you can use toy-cleansing spray, or alcohol-free baby wipes or toy wipes, or soap and water. To disinfect, you can always wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. This is recommended when switching partners.

When storing, keep it in a place away from other silicone toys, as they will essentially melt and warp each other. I store mine in a satin pouch, but a zip lock baggie or a box would work fine. For the same reason, do not use silicone-based lube. Water-based is always the way to go. I recommend JO H2O. JO is the only brand of lube I use now.

Packaging

The packaging for Little Paul isn't bad, but it's not great, especially for the price. It comes in a grey and red cardboard box that is used for all the minivibes. The front of the box is a clear window in which you can view the toy, and the back is a flap that opens to the right. It has a picture of the Spring minivibe on the outside, and shows information on the inside when opened. Opening it also reveals another flap that opens to the left. It has information on both sides, and when it is opened, it reveals a clear window. This way you can view the toy from both sides. You will be able to see right through the box with all the flaps opened. The flaps stay shut with the use of magnets. The packaging is very informative, and lists all the features of the minivibe toys. The information is available in many different languages, and it even includes a diagram. Inside is a clamshell that holds the minivibe in place, along with an instruction manual, a product booklet, and a sample pack of ToyFluid, Fun Factory's water-based lubricant. The charger comes packaged separately. The boxes matched, though this one had very little information on it. It also came with a multi-language instruction booklet.

The box is not discreet, since the toy can be seen through the package. However it still might make a nice gift, since it is classy and has no naked people or lewd sayings on it. It is okay for storage, but not great. The packaging is recyclable.

Personal comments

Some people have said they like the toy, but not the price. I believe it was worth the money simply because of the quality. You are paying for a high-quality, German-made, silicone toy. I know I have payed more for LELO toys, and as much as I love them, this one definitely has more features. I think it is well worth the price if you think the toy will work for you. This was the first toy I bought on Eden. I paid full price as there were no sales on it, and I was unaware of buy-out assignments. I don't regret it!
Follow-up commentary
I still agree with everything I wrote in my review. I would like to say I still use Little Paul frequently, but unfortunately I misplaced it on cleaning day a month ago and still haven't found it! I will be replacing it with another Minivibe, as I quite enjoyed having Little Paul around. I really recommend it to anyone!
