You Get What You Pay For

Because of how quickly we had issues with the power dial on our unit, I couldn't recommend this vibrator to anyone. It is true that it did its job when everything worked well and the batteries were fresh, but there are simply better vibrators out there for just a few dollars more. It is a low-end vibrator, and should be expected to behave as such.

Pros
It's cheap; fairly attractive; effective for clitoral stimulation when batteries are fresh
Cons
Iffy power dial on our unit; drained batteries quickly; not waterproof

extremely useful review
Once upon a time, my wife was under the impression that I was all she needed to satisfy her sexually, and although this was indeed flattering, I knew full well that she would enjoy using a vibrator to augment our sex life. As I wasn't positive that this was going to be the case, I bought the cheapest vibrator I could (the Opulent Ridged) on the remote chance she didn't like it. Well, she did like it a great deal.

This vibrator worked exceptionally well for her, although subsequent vibrators we've bought have definitely been improvements. The power was on the moderate side, and when used on the clitoris it would usually, but not always, result in an orgasm. Battery power was depleted pretty quickly despite the fact that it was stored without the batteries in it (as all vibrators should be). As a result, it could be used for only a few hours until the vibrations dropped to a point where she couldn't get aroused enough to orgasm. The noise level was also moderate, and could be heard outside a closed door, but not through an adjacent wall. As such, this vibrator is probably not the best choice when discretion is an issue.

The vibrator is constructed of plastic, and thus is a fairly safe material to use. Although it comes in several colors, ours was one reminiscent of mother-of-pearl, so it was actually quite an attractive vibrator. The girth was fairly typical of a vibrator, so it was neither on the too thin nor too thick side. The side ridges served no useful function for either of us, and only increased the amount of diligence required to clean it. Adding to the cleaning negatives is the fact that this vibrator is not waterproof. Typical with plastic, there is a slight retention of odor after it is used/washed.

Clitoral stimulation was what it was used for most prominently with us, and it certainly sufficed in that area, but it was also used for vaginal and anal penetration (editor's note: this vibrator is not designed for anal penetration due to the lack of flared base-use at your own risk). Vaginally, it was pleasurable to my wife, but in no way brought her close to an orgasm (although, I'm not certain any vibrator would). Due to its straight profile, it would be less useful as a g-spot stimulator, but again, that wasn't tested with us. Anally, the biggest issue is that it wouldn't stay in, but since this is not designed for that purpose, I can't hold it against it. It was pleasurable to use when held in, though.

The biggest problem with this vibrator, however, is that it broke within a year of getting it. As with many vibrators, the mechanism to turn it off and on and to change the power level was a dial at the base of the vibrator. After about six months of use, this dial became a bit balky, and didn't always turn on the first time the dial was moved. Within nine months, it took a lot of patience and luck to get it turned on and to keep it turned on. Suffice it to say, that's not what you want your focus to be on when you are using it. This may have been a bad individual vibrator or it may be a problem common to all Opulent Ridged vibrators. I don't know, but it was absolutely a problem with ours.
