Liberator's BonBon is one of the line's more compact position pillows that is not only useful for turning just about any dildo or vibrator into a hands-free pleasure saddle to straddle, but it can also be used to enhance a couple's sexual encounter by improving maneuvers/positioning or perhaps even by introducing some double penetration to playtime. So if you enjoy being on top and in control, or if you like to 'grind to unwind', then this sweet pillow may be just what you are looking for. It combines comfort, affordability, and an alternative to the limited variety of suction-cup toys on the market, all rolled up in one delectable yet very simple device.

  • Design / Craftsmanship / Material:

    As with all Liberator pillows, the craftsmanship of the BonBon is a testimony to the the company's commitment to quality and durability. Constructed of a dense, supportive, firm foam core, the BonBon is designed to support a wide variety of body types. It's approximately 14.5 inches long, 8 inches tall, and 12 inches wide. The 5-inch long by 3.5-inch deep toy opening is centered on top of the pillow in the middle of the vertical seam. Looking at the toy from either end, it resembles half an egg/oval shape, and from the front it looks like somewhat of a candy bonbon, hence the name. Although the manufacturer's specifications (on the official website) indicate it weighs 10 pounds, it actually weighs closer to 2.45 pounds.

    A soft, micro-suede cover in your choice of six colors makes up the outermost layer. The ends of this casing are black, while the main portion over and under the pillow is colored. The next layer is a black, water-resistant nylon cover that protects the foam core and makes inserting the toys easier, in addition to facilitating removal and replacement of the the outer cover. This is also removable if replacement is necessary. The zipper of both covers bisects the pillow from one end across the bottom length of the pillow and ends at the top of the opposite side.

  • Performance:

    Vibrators can be placed directly in the nylon pocket and flared toys are inserted in between the micro-suede liner and the nylon liner. Depending on the finish of the selected toy (smoother, shinier toys may slip) and its diameter (1-1/4 inch minimum), it should stay securely in place during use. As long at the toy can be inserted in the pocket, it can be angled somewhat. Power-operated toys are impossible to manually control once inserted in the pocket, so selecting the desired setting ahead of insertion is recommended.

    The height of the BonBon might make it more difficult for certain individuals to do more than just grind on the pillow; however, this is relative to the user's body type. The way the pillow is designed allows for deeper penetration when the user is sitting upright on it, so selecting the appropriate toy for maximum comfort and pleasure is crucial. The width, however, should be ideal for most users to obtain a firm grip on the pillow using the knees and thighs so that it remains stable under the body's weight. Having a somewhat firm foundation to place the pillow on, such as a carpeted floor or a firm mattress will make use easier, but once a user masters the balancing act just about any location is possible.

  • Packaging:

    BonBon comes in a clear plastic bag with a white paper label band wrapped around the pillow itself. The only instructions, located on the inside of the label, describe how to insert the two types of toys that can be used in conjunction with it.

    Is it discreet? No, but it's certainly light enough to tote around, compact enough to hide under a bed or in a closet, and attractive enough to leave out in the open without its appearance screaming "sexual aide!". If you select a color that coordinates with your surroundings, then it will just blend in better.

  • Care and Maintenance:

    No cleaning instructions are provided with the pillow; however, a visit to the official Liberator FAQ section reveals that the micro-suede cover can be washed in cold water. No drying instructions were provided. The inner nylon cover can be simply be wiped down with a damp cloth.

  • Experience:

    First and foremost, I'd like to point out that this pillow DOES NOT weigh 10 pounds. The official website states this amount, however I weighed it on a postal scale and also held a 10 pound dumbbell in my hand to feel the difference, which is significant. Obviously, a 10-pound pillow would provide much more stability, but as is, the pillow is fine.

    I did wash the cover before first use on cold water and after debating whether or not to put in in the dryer or hang dry it, I decided to dry it on low with some other darks. It did not shrink or bleed and was easy to get back on the pillow.

    As far as toys, those with a round-flared base (my Tantus toys) stayed put more securely than those with a more rectangular-flared base (specifically my Vixskin Goodfella). The ability to not be able to change settings on a power toy was overshadowed by the fact that I could ride it hands-free.

    As far as finding the right spot to use the pillow in, my bed was too bouncy unless I held on to the metal frame. Placing the toy on the carpet floor within reach of the bed's metal frame gave me the support I needed if I wanted something to hold on to, or if I want to squat and ride the toy, but that just wore my legs out! It was easiest to use by hugging it between my legs, leaning back, hands on the floor behind me, allowing the clitoral stimulator of my rabbit vibe to do its job. If I leaned forward, the penetration of the toy went much deeper and I then needed to hold on to something.

    It made for a great support to rest my body weight on while have doggie-style sex with my partner. Not too high, just the right position to prop my lower body up so that I could rest my forearms comfortably on the bed.

    We've also owned the Liberator Ramp and Wedge combo for at least 5 years, and these pillows do retain their original shape, so I'm confident the BonBon will last for quite a long time.
