Lie To Me, 24, Lost … Doug Hutchinson is in all the newest stuff. Now the 51-year-old actor has found wedded bliss with 16-year-old recording artist Courtney Alexis Stodden. The two seem happy enough in pics, but since she's so young (we were enjoying Hutchinson in "The X Files" four months before his bride was even born) one has to wonder: Is the marriage legal?
According to E's Linda Gornstein, it is, because Courtney's mom signed a consent form. LA Late reported that Courtney's dad also gave consent and that in Nevada, where the couple wed, only one parent's consent is necessary for a minor to marry.
Courtney, who signed with the John Casablanca Modeling Agency at age 12, does seem like a young lady who wants to get a lot done in a hurry. She's not Hollywood's first teen bride (“Five Hollywood teen brides—and grooms”) though she may be its first (aspiring) multi-media, Christian bombshell. Most interestingly (aside from being married to someone 35 years her senior) she made an anti-cyber bullying PSA about the truly alarming things that people have written to/about her online.
And she's right. “You were meant to be killed,” is a comment no one should have to put up with.
One can only hope for the best for everyone involved in this May-December romance that was literally made official in May. After watching an anti-bullying video, what are you going to do— wish people the worst?
