Wow. I've always wondered about this.

I'm not med-savvy, but it seems like there would be a better way to do this than discouraging such a huge portion of the population from donating. Isn't testing people to make sure they're organs are safe good enough?

I was told by a doctor at my university that due to my sexual history I'm at a high risk for hiv. my partner and I don't have anal sex. And if we did it would be with a condom. he's never done anything with another man. We both haven't had another partner within the past two years. We've also been tested multiple times within that period, always negative. What gives?
