Some advocates for sex- and female-positive porn find themselves disappointed with Kink.com's latest gimmick.
Up-and-coming porn star Nikki Blue says she wants to lose her virginity live on The Upper Floor, and Kink.com will oblige. A "hymen cam" will be inserted into Blue's vagina to "prove" she's a virgin before fans vote on who will deflower her.
The lucky contestants? Porn stars Mark Davis, Jack Hammer and James Deen.
Says founder Peter Ackworth, “We strive each and every day to bring the best possible content to our customers and sacrificing Nikki’s innocence is in perfect alignment with what our fans expect and deserve.”
But Blue's “sacrificed innocence” isn't what's bothering critics. Blowback stems from how Kink.com worded their press release. Some feel the press release perpetuates a few myths about virginity and the vagina, and are disappointed that a normally progressive company has stooped to mainstream porn tactics to make a quick buck.
Hopeful eyes are on the company in anticipation of how the event will be handled. Perhaps Kink.com will redeem itself, yet.
