Huma Abedin, pregnant wife of former congressman and digital flasher Anthony Weiner, is reported by the New York Post to be taking some time off from her job and her husband.

'Atta girl. If he gets time off work—like, all of it—for sending smutty texts and photos, then she should get some headspace from her senior job with the State Department to process the 180 degree turn in her life. The State Department hasn’t confirmed yet that she's taking leave.

Just before Weiner announced his decision to step down, Huma had returned from a trip to Africa with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton (and who better to be with when a thing like that happens?). It’s been reported that Huma wanted to try to make the marriage work.

The Post says that Huma will be “relaxing at an undisclosed location” while her Weiner goes to treatment (God, please let it be on “Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew”). The Daily Mail, ran a picture they say was taken just days before she made her decision, of the couple on a lunch date. She appears to be perusing the menu while he plays with his Blackberry (can we call it a Jackberry yet?).

Congrats to Huma on her dignified reserve. Some women would have grabbed that thing (the Blackberry) and broken it in half with that handy pepper mill. That sounds therapeutic.
