Product summary and comments by Sir

Summary:

With this set by LoveHoney, don't judge a book by its cover—the packaging is very creative and beautiful, and the booklet that comes with the Supersex Bondage Kit is extremely useful, but the set itself lacks any "oomph." The fabric is itchy, uncomfortable, and sheds a lot. The blindfold isn't creative at all. Though it is extremely easy to use, it's really disappointing that such a great writer who is so educated on BDSM produced such a lacking set.

Best use:

This is definitely not something for advanced users, unless they're planning to go for a lighter, softer night of pleasure. This set by LoveHoney is aimed towards people who are new to BDSM and wanting to try something non-intimidating and soft, something easy to put on and easy to get out of when it's needed. In the box, LoveHoney includes a little folded up instruction booklet that's extremely informative, going into all that you need to know about using these ankle and wrist cuffs and the blindfold. A quote from the booklet that they stress to sell their set is this: "When one of you is tied up, you're forced to stray from your usual, predictable (yawn) love-making style. It's all about power—having it or not having it—and either is unbearably arousing."

All of the pieces to this set are an easy-on, easy-off design that can aid when you're new to this. It takes barely any time at all to tighten the cuffs around your partner (or partners) and tie the tethers to your bed, chair, or anywhere else you can think of. When you've finished strapping your partner down, tie the blindfold around their head securely. From there, your imagination can take you wherever you'd like to go.

    Sir's opinion
The Supersex Bondage Kit is aimed to be for very light BDSM users, with a faux-fur/fuzzy texture on the ankle and wrist cuffs as well as the blindfold. All of the pieces are made to fit any size person, though smaller people will have problems with the wrist and ankle cuffs. The material that they're made of is extremely thin and sheds all over the place — when I rubbed my fingers over it, the fibers got on me, even though I have fairly dry skin; they also got all over my mattress. If you like furry textured wrist cuffs, then you may like these ones, with the addition of the tethers, but it's doubtful that you will like the blindfold.

Looking at the blindfold, I cannot understand why they would make something so simply—the blindfold is just two pieces of fabric neatly sewn together in a thick, long strip. Both sides of the blindfold are made of this same material. There is no satin, or even cotton, lining to protect your face. The shedding of this material may get in your eyes. Personally, I think that blindfolds look much more attractive when they have something more to them, rather than just a shedding strip. You cannot see through this blindfold whatsoever—that's the only thing that's good about it.

The cuffs are closed by velcro, which makes for a bad scenario with the added faux-fur. If you close the velcro around the fabric by accident, you will not be pleased with the results. Like anything, the fur will get caught in the velcro and eventually make it so backed up that it will be unusable. You can fix this, of course, by pulling the fibers out of the velcro, but you honestly shouldn't have to go through the trouble of doing that.

The fact that the fabric is thin on the cuffs is good for a number of reasons. One of these is for the purpose of sweating. The thinness of the fabric will not cause you discomfort in the way of making you hot and sweat more. It's also good because it makes them very light and non-intimidating to those who are new to BDSM. However, because of this fabric's furry, scratchy component, it will cause you discomfort when the fibers stick to your damp skin. And as you struggle more, they will become more and more itchy—and another thing: rug-burn. I do like the tethers, though—they're made of the same material that dog collars are made out of, that nylon material, making them very sturdy and easy to use.

To make the whole set better, the lining should have been made of a satin fabric. It would have kept the weight of the pieces down and would have been better for purposes of comfort. I don't doubt that this is a set that can last, but there are things that could be done to make it more comfortable and still retain its few great qualities.
  • Performance

    Sir's opinion
LoveHoney's set isn't something that most people would prefer—those who are new to BDSM, or those who are well-versed in it. It's a very uncomfortable, unoriginal set that won't live up to its expectations. The instructions go into such wonderful detail, but the product itself lacks any oomph or "wow" factor. I'm actually disappointed by these because the instruction booklet is so informative—I expected more from the set after reading that.

It's a set that's intended for people who are newer to trying out lighter forms of restraint, but it lacks anything that makes it different from better sets that are out there. It is very cheap, but still not even worth bothering to buy. Sometimes, it's more of a waste to buy something cheaper when it won't be used more than once.
  • Care and Maintenance

    Sir's opinion
You can store these anywhere that you would store clothes or normal pieces of bondage. I would definitely not store them near dildos, prosthetics, vibrators, or anything that might attract the fibers from the fabric. To clean this material, take warm water on a towel or cloth and just move it with the direction of the fibers. Do not move it against, because tons of little hairs will get all over. I wouldn't put any of these pieces in the washer or dryer—hand washing may be alright, but I wouldn't recommend that either.
  • Packaging

    Sir's opinion
The Supersex Bondage Set is packaged in a very lovely, creative thin cardboard box. It has a black, pink, and white color scheme that's very attractive and aesthetically pleasing. On the front, there is a black and white image of two people together in an erotic pose, with Tracey Cox's name at the top, the product name on the left, and a little description of what's included in the lower right. It's very well done, which is surprising for what the box holds. On the back of the box, it has a little introduction to the product as well as a short bio on Tracey Cox, including a quote made by her and an image of the product under the quote.

What I call an instructional booklet, they call an "exclusive supersex bondage guide." Though I wouldn't particularly put it in such high esteem, it is not only very informative, it's also a good, short, to-the-point read. Tracey Cox makes a lot of good points in her little booklet that would be very helpful to those who are new to BDSM. Thankfully, even if you don't want to buy her products, she does have two books out called Supersex and Hot Sex that are probably very good for introductory BDSM.
