  • Material / Texture:

    The Coney Toyfriend is covered in black, latex-free, phthalate-free, hypo-allergenic silicone. It is quite hard underneath the silicone covering on the body of the toy. The ears are bendable, but the silicone in them is firm. The word 'tickler' is embedded along one side.

    There is no texture to this toy other than the word 'tickler', although the rabbit's nose does extend out from the body of the vibrator.

    It is completely scent free. The surface feels silky smooth to the touch.

    The Coney Toyfriend resembles a rabbit with a body that has a circumference of 4 1/4 inches. The nose of the rabbit sticks out about 3/8 of a inch. Two ears extend up from the top of the head about three inches. They are quite stiff. There is about 3/16 of an inch of space separating each ear.



    The bottom inch of the toy is the cap. When you unscrew it for the first time, a small circular piece of paper intended to prevent the batteries from contacting the plates falls out of the battery compartment. The Toyfriend arrives with two AAA batteries already inserted so once you replace the cap, it is ready to use. The protective piece of paper says "I'm a tickler." In case you had assumed that this was a vibrator meant to be the final act, the circle will set you straight.

    It is a waterproof toy, but there is no rubber O-ring to seal the cap. However, it looks like a well-constructed toy. The threads are more extensive than are usually seen on vibrator caps. It requires several revolutions of the cap to completely screw it in place.

    Coney comes with a lucite stand to keep it upright between uses.

  • Functions / Performance / Controls:

    A single button on the bottom of the toy controls the Toyfriend's vibrations. Press it once to start the vibrations. Pressing additional times will move it through its five vibration patterns:

    1) steady vibration
    2) also steady vibration but at a lower pitch
    3) pulsing vibrations
    4) faster pulses
    5) even faster pulses

    Patterns one and two seem to be of equal strength, although the second pattern makes a deeper sound.

    To turn it off, hold the button down for two seconds. It will begin again on pattern one no matter which pattern you were using during your last session.

    Coney's vibrations aren't particularly strong. It is about as strong as the Seed and less strong than MiMi. Coney's vibrational quality, however, is surprisingly good.

    The vibrations travel extremely well through the ears. In fact, they feel stronger at the tip of the ears than they do on the rabbit's nose. Although the vibrations are best at the tip of the ears, its not quite like the fluttery sensation that are given by the clitoral nubs of some rabbit vibrators. Coney's vibrations are more intense than that.

    It makes a moderate amount of noise. You will probably be able to conceal its noise with music.

    Even without an O-ring, it does indeed remain watertight inside the battery compartment when used under water.

    After multiple sessions of use, the batteries are not showing signs of weakening.

  • Care and Maintenance:

    The Coney Toyfriend is a non-porous, waterproof, easy care toy. Use only water based lubes with it, but to clean it, simply wash it with water, then towel or air dry it.

  • Packaging:

    It arrives in a simple, but attractive white box. A clear cellophane window lets you see the toy inside.

    Nowhere on the packaging does it say how to use it or that it's a clitoral toy. It could be that it's intended not just for clitoral use but as an all over sensation toy. Perhaps Vibratex wants you to figure out how best to use Coney without direction.

  • Experience:

    I was surprised at how good Coney feels. Even though its vibrations aren't strong, they are of high quality. I even managed to climax with it, which says something. I usually require strong vibrations for that. This may be just the toy to help me in my quest to wean myself off strong vibrators.

    I tried using it with one ear on each side of my clitoris, Form 2 style. Coney's vibrations are not close to the strength of Form 2. It didn't work well that way for me. The vibrations were dampened when used in this fashion.

    I also inserted the ears, just to see how that would feel vaginally. That was mildly pleasant and amusing. Those who like nipple stimulation will be very pleased with how the Toyfriend feels when used in that manner.
