The hard plastic bullet is very smooth and shiny. There is a smooth, silicone sleeve for the bullet that is pink, matted, and has 3 wave like ripples on it. These ripples do add some texture to the sleeve, but not enough to make it annoying. The matted silicone helps hold lube on during play.
The sleeve can be difficult to pop on and off the bullet, so it is suggested you apply a small bit of lube to the inside of the sleeve to help get it on and off. Never use the cord as a pulley to get the bullet out because it will likely break. It works best if you apply pressure to the tip and push it out. Both pieces are non-porous and free of odor or taste.
The Gyrating Wave Teaser comes in 3 parts - a control pack, the corded bullet and the pink silicone sleeve. The control pack fits easily in the hand and measures 3.75 x 1.25 inches. The bullet cord is long and comes in at 32 inches in length; this is fantastic because it gives you a lot of room to work with. Also, the cord is not permanently attached - it plugs into a jack at the top of the control, which comes in handy for cleaning.
On to the bullet itself: it measures 2.25 inches long. It is sort of pear shaped, and the bulbous head, being the widest point, measures 4 inches around. Once you slide on the sleeve, it bumps it up to 5.25 inches around. This may seem large, but it can still be easily slid between bodies during intercourse.
Although it lacks a travel lock, this bullet does not take up a whole lot of space. If you are sure to remove the batteries, it can easily be stored or packed away for travel.
There is a small square button on the front of the control pack. This is your dedicated on and off switch. At the back is a small button that is used to cycle through all 10 of the modes and functions of the toy. It does have a memory and will remember the last setting you left off at.
The toy starts at a high, steady vibration. With each click you get to the next mode. It is followed by medium steady, low steady, gradient burst, intermittent, surge, inta-surge, even step, roller coaster spurt, and pulsate.
The vibrations are very deep and, for a hand held bullet, they are quite strong. When turned on, the bullet spins in a circle, which is where the gyrating comes into play. The noise level is not bad at all. It cannot be heard through a closed door at all, or under a heavy blanket.
Although the control pack is not waterproof and should not be submerged, you can submerge the bullet portion. Simply detach the 2 pieces and wash your bullet in warm soapy water. The silicone sleeve can be boiled for a good clean if need be. If you need to clean off the battery pack, do so with a wipe or damp cloth.
Because the sleeve is silicone, it is best to stick with water based lube for this toy. It can be stored in the box it came in, in a small bag, or even just tossed in your toy box. The materials of the Wave Teaser play well with others.
I was impressed with how this toy was packaged. The 3 pieces of the bullet were all individually sealed in a bag and then tossed in the box. This helps in knowing there were no strange fingers touching your toy prior to it coming to your domain. It is not at all discreet, but it is pretty awesome.
I am loving this bullet and it has officially made its way to the top of my toy mountain. The deep vibrations are what I love, and this really does the trick. It has yet to make me numb. It is really a fantastic toy at quite a fantastic price.
Without the sleeve, I find the strength in my fingertips is just too much and they start to get itchy after a while; once I put the sleeve on though, it is perfect. This is officially my favorite external toy (and trust me, I have tried many).
My only gripe is that it starts on high and works backwards. For this I would remove half a star if I could. Otherwise it is perfect.
