Thrill by We-Vibe is made entirely of medical-grade silicone and ABS plastic. Both these materials are completely inert and body safe. Additionally, both are totally non-porous materials and have absolutely no smell or taste.
The entire toy is smooth, except for three small ridges on the g-spot bulb. The ridges are not noticed during use. There is also a seam where the plastic meets the silicone on the handle. That seam is not noticed during use either.
The silicone that We-Vibe uses on the Thrill is very shiny and tacky. It collects fuzz and has a lot of drag to it, even though it is texture free. This silicone is also very flexible and has some squish to it in the g-spot bulb.
The texture and material of the Thrill are ideal for anyone who appreciates body-safe toys with very little texture.
We-Vibe’s Thrill is a small toy overall, that truly fits in the palm of your hand. Its small size and compact design make it really easy to store, hide, or travel with. It has size where it counts, though! The g-spot bulb has an overall circumference of 4”, but since it is flattened rather than perfectly round, the diameter is about 1.25”. This size will be ideal for many users, but may prove too small or too big for others.
After the g-spot bulb, the shaft of the Thrill tapers down to a mere 0.5” diameter. This will be ideal for users who enjoy a feeling of fullness inside, but don’t enjoy a stretching feeling at the vaginal opening.
Because the Thrill inserts and then curls around your body, it is designed to provide clitoral stimulation while the g-spot bulb is inserted vaginally. The design of this dual stimulation toy will allow it to work with the varying anatomies of most women. That being said, however, it will likely work best for those women who have longer clitorises that hang down just a bit, and women who have fairly shallow g-spots.
We-Vibe’s Thrill comes with a 41” long magnetic USB charger. The charger cord is completely nondescript and can be used to charge some cell phones or Bluetooth devices. There is a 1.25” long adapter that slides onto the end of it. This adapter has the We-Vibe logo on it and has two small indentations that attach to the Thrill for charging.
Like most magnetic chargers, this one is fairly sensitive to being moved, detaching from the toy, and all that. Be sure to set your Thrill up to charge on a flat surface in an area where it won’t be bumped or jostled while charging.
The charger blinks while charging and then glows steady when your Thrill is fully charged. When the battery was completely drained, it took 90 minutes for it to recharge. That charge then lasted for 90 minutes on the High setting (it will run longer on a lower setting). Thrill did not get overly hot while charging or running for these extended periods of time. It did not lose power as the battery drained either; it simply ran at full power until it died.
Thrill is controlled by 1 push button on the top of the toy, where the charger attaches. The button is easy to push when you’re ready to change settings, but is out of the way so it won’t accidentally get bumped when in use. The toy turns on with a brief push of the button, and holding the button down for 2 or 3 seconds turns it off. When you turn the Thrill off, it will remember the setting it was last on, and turn back on that setting. During use, scroll through the settings with a brief push of the button. You can only scroll through the settings in 1 direction, so if you pass the one you wanted you’ll have to scroll through all of them until you find it again. As you scroll through the settings, once you scroll past the 8th setting, the next brief push of the button turns the toy off.
The vibrations of the Thrill can be felt in the g-spot bulb and along the entire length of the gray plastic clitoral stimulator. It is completely waterproof, and performs just as well in the water as it does out of the water.
We-Vibe has given Thrill 4 different power settings and 4 additional patterned settings. I will here share the different settings and patterns. The first chart is off the We-Vibe’s webpage for Thrill, and the second is my description of the different functions.
I always use Je Joue MiMi as a point of reference for rating vrooms and bees. In comparing the Thrill to the MiMi, I found the vibrations to be nearly identical in power and rumble/buzz. The main difference is that Thrill’s clitoral vibrations are over a much broader area than the MiMi’s. In use, the Thrill feels a bit weaker than it does in the hand. Power is lost due to being spread out over a larger area and perhaps not coming into contact well with the user’s body. Because of that, the entirety of the vrooms cannot really be enjoyed during actual use.
Thrill is very easy to take care of. After using it, just toss it in a sink full of warm water and wash it with your favorite soap or toy cleaner. To sanitize, soak it in a 10% bleach solution (1 part bleach to 10 parts water). NEVER boil this toy, and don’t throw it in the dishwasher either; the high heat will damage the motor. The only area that may need a bit of extra attention when washing is the seam between the plastic handle and the silicone body.
Lubricant will definitely need to be used with this toy. The best lube to use with your Thrill is a water-based lubricant. We-Vibe also approves the use of Pjur silicone lubricants with their silicone toys, just in case you prefer a silicone lubricant.
For storage, keep your We-Vibe Thrill in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Store it safely in its original box or in the satin drawstring pouch that comes with it.
Luxurious packaging is just one of the pros with the Thrill: a lovely box with a magnetic closure on the lid, the toy nestled in a custom-cut foam insert, and two compartments below where the storage pouch, instruction booklet and charger are neatly packed.
Even though I really, really wanted to love this toy, Thrill is just not compatible with the kind of stimulation I like best. It is not a bad toy however, depending on what you enjoy. I don’t hate it and I don’t love it. If Thrill were a person, it would be perpetually stuck in the “friend zone” with me.
Since the clitoral stimulator is so long and narrow, it very likely will come into contact with the entire vulva. This is a pleasant sensation, but because of its size and shape I was unable to get the pinpointed stimulation I need to be satisfied. Larger or meatier inner lips will steal most of the vibrations for themselves, leaving the clit feeling all lonely and sad. A clit that is shy and likes to hide under its hood will also likely be left wanting.
The stimulator definitely reached its intended target for me. In fact, my anatomy spacing between urethral opening and clitoris is about 40mm, and the clitoral stimulator extended well past that distance. While it did reach my anatomy, it still didn’t work for me.
My external clitoris is short and very close to my body, and when the Thrill’s g-spot bulb is inserted, the clitoral stimulator is at an angle that points up and away from my clitoris rather than down and towards my clitoris. That means that I have to really pull the clitoral stimulator towards my body, which in turn pulls it away from my g-spot internally. Women with longer clits, clits that aren’t hidden away under the clitoral hood, or who just prefer more diffuse vibrations, will enjoy this design and benefit most from it.
I also enjoy focusing stimulation to just certain areas, like above or below the clitoris. That is not possible with We-Vibe’s Thrill. It just stimulates the entire area, and was actually difficult for me to bring into direct contact with my clitoris. Even though this toy gets a 4 vroom rating from me in my hand, in actual use, I’m doing good to enjoy 3 full vrooms from it just because it doesn’t contact my anatomy properly.
I absolutely LOVE the g-spot bulb on Thrill! My only issue is that to achieve the type of pressure and rapid thrusting my g-spot prefers, I have to use the handle to straighten the Thrill out completely and almost use it like a vibrating dildo. While that feels amazing internally, I’m not able to get clitoral stimulation from it at the same time, so that kind of defeats the purpose of a dual stimulating toy in my book.
Strange little thing this handle. It isn’t big enough for me to actually wrap my hand around, or even loop a finger through. I just kind of hold onto the top of it and use it that way. The size and shape don’t allow me to get a lot of traction or leverage on it, which makes it pretty much impossible to thrust the toy while using the handle.
The Thrill is best used with a simple rocking motion, so if you enjoy friction and thrusting, this is not a toy that will give you lots of that. I was able to easily use Thrill hands-free as well, and that is a big pro for some users. When used hands-free, you can lie on your stomach and grind your hips against the bed or a pillow. You can even use it hands-free and straddle something (or someone!) to grind against. The stimulation with this We-Vibe is a bit more subtle and gentle than what I generally enjoy, but that may be just perfect for sensitive users.
I’m rating the Thrill 3 out of 5 stars. I would have rated it 4 stars, because I do think it is well-made and has decent power. It doesn’t happen to work with my anatomy, but that doesn’t make the toy bad, it just doesn’t work for me. However, I am going to take 1 star off because of the useless handle.
