This is rechargeable via a USB cord. It takes about two hours to fully charge it up and it will last about the same with continuous use. It has multiple speeds and patterns to it. There are three power settings and and four settings that will do different patterns. You have to hold the + button for about three seconds to actually turn it on and the same with the - to turn it off. It is splash proof but not water proof.
