This was one of my first vibes, and I really liked it. It's made of very soft material that doesn't have that odd plastic scent that some do. It's a great size for beginners and the hand-held controller makes things it easy to operate. Being waterproof is also a great feature. I personally prefer a little more intense vibration, but I recommended it to a friend (a first-timer) and she loved it.
