Lovely Little Tryst
This toy is a great way to experiment with different feels and patterns for beginners and is a great way to expand your collection for advanced users. Without breaking the bank, this cute toy does it's job and has a lot more oomph than I was expecting. With the motor in the tip it's great for external play, I just wish I could feel the vibrations a bit better internally. Read more

Best use:

Tryst 1 is a very versatile, multi-functional vibrator. Not only can it be used for external stimulation on areas such as the clitoris, breasts, testicles, or penis, it can also be used for g spot stimulation. The flexible and squishy shaft allows for better angling and easier insertion. Vibrations are located in the head of the toy, rather than in the middle of the shaft or near the base, allowing for more direct stimulation as well. I feel this toy will work well in many situations, whether it is masturbation or with one or more partners, especially since Tryst 1 is waterproof. I do not recommend using this toy anally. The base is not flared, so the vibrator may get stuck or lost inside of the body very easily.

  • Material / Texture:

    Tryst 1 is made of a very soft, non-porous silicone. The shaft features a few vertical lines that aren't all too easy to feel during use. Hidden along one of these vertical lines is the seam, which is somewhat visible but cannot be easily felt. The base is made of a smooth plastic, as are the power and vibration buttons.

    The silicone does have a velvety feel to it, so it attracts lint very easily. Within just a couple of minutes of holding mine, a few cat hairs got stuck on it. The velvety feel of the silicone also means this will have a good amount of friction between it and your skin. The amount of friction can be lessened with lubricants.

    There is no noticeable taste to Tryst 1, though there is a very faint smell to it. To me, it's like the smell of plastic pool toys right out of the box, though I can only smell it on Tryst 1 if I have it right under my nose. The smell can be removed by washing and leaving this out of the packing for a few days.

  • Design / Shape / Size:

    Tryst 1 measures 7 inches from the tip to the end of the base, with approximately 5 1/4 inches of that being insertable. The circumference varies up and down the shaft, with the head measuring 4 inches around, half-way down the shaft measuring 3 1/2 inches around, and the base measuring 4 1/4 inches around. Approximately 3 inches of the shaft is flexible, bending as far as a 45 degree angle. This part of the shaft also has a lot of give to it and squishes together when pressed, though not nearly as much as a jelly toy. This allows for very easy insertion and comfortable use. Just because of the flexible and giving shaft, this has become my favorite vibrator.

    Located in the bulbous head of the toy is the vibrating bullet. By centering the vibrations in the head, this toy is much more stimulating both internally and externally. Externally, it stimulates the clitoris, testicles, breasts, and other parts of the body directly. Internally, the g-spot is also directly stimulated. Vibrators with a vibrating mechanism placed near the base or in the shaft of the toy do not allow for as much stimulation, since the vibrations must travel down the toy to reach the head.

    The base of the toy has a removable battery hatch. I actually find the hatch a bit difficult to remove, since most of my nails have broken all the way down to my skin. There is a small tab just big enough to push with a fingernail that pops the hatch off. I also have a little difficulty getting the hatch to snap back on properly sometimes. By putting my finger right over where the hatch says "OPEN," I can get it to snap back on securely. The toy will not operate if the hatch is not secure. The hatch is supposed to be waterproof, though since there is no rubber ring underneath it, it may not properly seal out water. When I tested it in the water, the hatch kept the batteries dry.

    I feel Tryst 1 can be enjoyed by both beginner and advanced users. It is very easy to insert, especially with a little bit of lubrication. The shaft of the toy is small enough to fit comfortably inside of the vagina, almost comfortable enough to not be felt. I also feel the length is pretty good. It's long enough to stimulate my g-spot, though not so long that it runs into my cervix.

    I do not feel that Tryst 1 is discreet. Anyone who happens to find it will know right away it's a vibrator. The packaging is clear, so even if it is stored in the box, it will give itself away. However, this is small enough to easily hide under a pillow or in a drawer of clothing without making any suspicious bulges.

  • Functions / Performance / Controls:

    Tryst 1 features seven different vibrating functions, all of which are accessed by the button near the base. The power button is separate from the button used to switch functions, which can be helpful in turning the vibrator off quickly. when the power button is hit, both buttons light up red. Turning off the toy resets it back to the first vibrating function.

    The vibrations, which are located in the head of the toy, are pretty powerful. During use, it is very easy to switch between different functions. The buttons must be pushed to click in order to turn on/change functions with Tryst 1, so a slippery hand will not accidentally turn it off. The buttons are very easy to work regardless of hand position.

    Tryst 1's functions include:

    - Low constant vibrations
    - Medium constant vibrations
    - High constant vibrations
    - A pattern of vibration slowly increasing in intensity from low to high, before dropping back down to low
    - Short pulses of high vibrations with approximately a second between each pulse
    - Short pulses of medium vibrations with approximately half a second between each pulse
    - A pattern of short medium pulses followed by one longer medium pulse

    I personally like the low, medium, and final setting. The low, medium, and high settings are about the same as those on several other vibrators I have tried, making them average in strength. To me, the vibrations are also more of a buzzy type than rumbly. I do prefer the vibrations from this toy, though, because they aren't coming from the shaft, which usually irritates my vaginal walls.

    Each setting on Tryst 1 makes about the same amount of noise. I do not feel this toy is very loud at all. It is probably about half of the amount of noise the vibrating alert on my cell phone makes. Covers should very easily muffle any of the functions during use. Unlike some toys, the base of this does not make any noise from the vibrations.

    Tryst 1 requires two AAA batteries, which are not included. I have not used this all terribly too much yet, though so far it has only been running on two batteries I took out of another device.

  • Care and Maintenance:

    To care for Tryst 1, simply wash it with soap and water or some toy cleaner. Do not wash this in the dishwasher, as it will break the vibrating function. Air drying Tryst 1 is probably the best option, since rubbing it dry with a towel will cause any lint to stick to the silicone. Once it is dry, it should be stored in a closed container, which will keep it clean and dust-free. I keep mine in the original packaging, which is a plastic tray Tryst 1 fits into inside of a plastic box. Tryst 1 must be kept in at least a plastic bag if it is going to be stored with other silicone toys. Placing two silicone toys together in a box can wreck the material of both.

    When using Tryst 1, take care to use only water-based lubes, as silicone-based will adhere to the vibrator and will wreck it. Water-based lubricants will also wash off of this very easily with soap and water or a toy cleaner.

  • Packaging:

    Tryst 1’s packaging is very simple. The box is clear plastic with "l'Amour" in pink lettering and some white swirls on the sides and front of the box. In smaller lettering on the front is “Tryst 1.” The back, bottom, and top of the box are designed with a snow-like covering of white. The back of the box has a small picture of Tryst 1 as well as a list of features the toy has to offer, including 7 different vibrating functions, safe, waterproof silicone, and the location of the vibrations being the tip. The bottom of the box states some basic safety information, such as washing this before use and using only water-based lubricant. It also states to securely snap on the hatch before use. The box also notes that two AAA batteries, not included, are used to power Tryst 1.

    The packaging is not discreet, due to the fact that it is clear and also has a picture of the toy on the back. It would, though, be fine for a gift, since the packaging is pretty basic and clean looking. I think the packaging works well for storing, since it has a plastic tray to hold Tryst 1 in place while keeping it dust free. It may not do much in the way of protecting the vibrator from damage by being dropped or having something fall on top of it, though. If you choose not to store the toy inside of the packaging, the box can be recycled.

    I can honestly say this is the first vibrator I was truly impressed with. Most vibrators I find annoying or somewhat painful to use. Tryst 1's flexible, easy to insert body and comfortable vibrations allowed for me to fully enjoy what this toy has to offer. I love how slender the body is, too, since my vaginal opening is probably a little tighter than that of most women. My partner also commented on how much more stimulating the vibrations felt compared to that of other vibrators.
