Hi MrC, Thanks for reading and rating our Black Magic wand review. The wand is 3 parts. Top is head and flexiable neck, then the body where motor, etc and battery is, last 1/3 is only a hollow cone. If held on the cone , one doesn't feel much warmth. On the middle is where it gets warm.
