I put in a few entries, but I doubt any of mine will get picked. However, I can at least say I tried. I haven't been following it too closely either, other than to note that there's a whole lot of people excited for shirts, lol

What's everyone's favorite genre in erotica? Couples romance (any type of couple)? D/s? Female dom/male dom? Strangers? Voyeuristic stories? So many I'm surely leaving out.

For me, it's voyeuristic stories. I'm not entirely sure why that is, but I've always been drawn to those.

I like how you feel like you're kind of watching too even though you're reading about it.

Exactly! There's something so naughty about being the one to spy on someone else.

Personally, I'm drawn to stories with any type of dominance, be it male or female. But I really enjoy just about any type of erotica.

LOL - I dunno if three of us could share a brain...we might get spread too thin and really just start sounding retarded. (No cracks about how we already do, people!)

I like D/s erotica, but I really like it if it has some dirty language. Too much D/s doesn't really explain much about a good power exchange. I really like voyeurism and exhibitionism books too.

This is what I'm drawn to as well, in life and in erotica.

If the combined brain-age ended up anything like how I'm feeling right now, we'd sound very dumb, lol. I'm hoping more sleep will remedy this situation.

I don't really have a favorite genre. I'll read anything that involves sex and is nicely written. Recently I purchased a book called Master/Slave. It's pretty good.

I used to be heavily focused on the stories with male topping in them, but I've branched out since getting involved with the club and I'm reading all kinds of different genres.

I loved the Hotel and Airplane stories and I have a particular fondness for the sex with strangers concept. I have a small collection of stories I've written that focus on that topic. I really do enjoy reading stories about stuff that just wouldn't be safe or prudent in real life (like hooking up with strangers or risking getting caught having sex on an airplane) so anything in that vein works for me.

I do enjoy good D/s erotica, but it's hit and miss for me. Some power exchange dynamics really turn me off and if the story I'm reading uses those.. .bleh..I'm done.

I own that one. It's the first erotica book I ever purchased. It was a goo one.

I actually surprised myself by discovering what I like from reading some stories. I didn't think I would be into some stuff, but by branching out a bit, I've kind of opened up doors to whole new worlds for myself. I've actually found that I like more things than things I don't like, lol

Quick trivia question: Kristina started hosting our discussions back in June with which Alison Tyler book featured in that discussion?

Oh! I own that one too! I love it, all kinds of great stuff in there.

I got it on a trip to San Francisco, years ago, when I was shopping in a Barnes & Noble with my then boyfriend (dominant). I was reading it in the store and he's all..just buy it. And I was all..nooo I can't, I'll be mortified. This entertained him greatly and I was ordered to buy the book immediately.

Heh. Buying the book was as fun as reading it!

I would have to agree with this. I really enjoy gritty fiction, danger and sex combined just turn me right on, especially situations which are not plausible or safe in reality. For instance sex in a gross alley, where one is likely to be cut with broken glass and end up leaving with some awful grime on their face or body sounds really enticing. However I would never risk that in real life.

Haha, I always feel like buying a book at a brick and mortar store is a little bit of an adventure. When I bought 'Playing with Fire' the sales girl commented on how much she liked the cover and I couldn't help but laugh to myself. I'm pretty sure she read the title right after she said that.

That's usually how it happens. I had all sorts of fantasies outside the "norm" but once I started hanging out in chat rooms with other perverts and reading about all kinds of new stuff, it opened up a world I'd never even been capable of imagining.
