A-bomb - butt plug by Tantus - review by Bill220

The obvious intent of the A-Bomb is for anal use but I have read reviews on this site where ladies have used it vaginally as well.

If you are intimidated by size or haven't inserted anything close to a plug this large, you might want to look at something smaller and work your way up. Prior to the A-Bomb, the two largest diameter plugs that I'd used were the Sexy Spades Large and the Classic Buttplug Royal (see photo below), both of which I am very comfortable using with no warm up.

Given it's substantial girth, I can't imagine and would not attempt thrusting with this toy but I'm sure there's somebody out there that would enjoy it.

Tantus uses the finest silicone available for their products and this one is no exception. The surface is soft and silky but the toy itself is very firm and has a weighty feel to it. There is no texture but the A-Bomb doesn't need it. Its size alone will give you all the intensity you want and more.

The only thing that annoys me about this wonderfully designed plug is a slight ridge/raised edge that is present around the entire bottom of the base. You can see it in the photos below. At first glance I didn't think it was a big deal. I was wrong. After having it inserted for more than ten minutes or so that little tiny ridge starts to dig in and irritate the sides of my butt crack, which detracts from the pleasure of having it inserted for longer periods of time, even while sitting. Moving around makes it much worse. For such an otherwise impeccable, quality toy it's a real disappointment. I plan on sanding down or otherwise attempting to smooth that edge out.

The photos and size specifications of the A-Bomb are somewhat misleading. At it's widest point, my tape measure reads almost 8 1/2" circumference. The listed circumference is 7 1/2". My circumference measurement for the neck is 5 1/2". The listed neck diameter is 1 1/4", which equates to about a 3.9" circumference. Unlike a traditional cone shaped plug (like the aforementioned Classic Butt Plug Royal), the A-Bomb starts wide, gets wider, stays wider and then tapers down. It takes me much, much longer to get this thing in vs. any of my other toys but once it's in it feels great. Yes, it's big! But that's not a bad thing if you know that going in.

I love the plug's overall design. Notably the wide middle, fat neck and relatively narrow base. At first I wasn't too sure about the base but it's large enough to keep one from needing a trip to the emergency room.

The first time I tried to insert this thing was quite the adventure. I was in my bathroom and had just removed the obligatory warm up toy. I lubed everything up and proceeded to insert it. But not so fast. It got maybe 1/3 of the way in and it just stopped. I couldn't get it to go any further but I wasn't experiencing any pain or discomfort. So now what to do? I decide to press harder and this gets me about half way in and it stops yet again. Now I'm at the widest point of the plug and it's decidedly a bit uncomfortable. I'm very strong physically and I couldn't get this thing to budge. I got the idea to try and lean against the edge of my bathroom sink and push the plug in the rest of the way. It worked but it went in very quickly and caught me by surprise. All of this took place within a 5 minute time frame but I was sweating a good bit after it was all said and done. And yes, it was worth the effort. I was rewarded with a pleasant, full feeling along with a fair amount of prostate stimulation, which has escaped me with most of my other toys.

After using the A-Bomb almost daily for the past week or so, it's still difficult to insert but the reward is remains after it's all the way in.

Being made of silicone, clean up is usually easy but sometimes not. I wash mine with hot tap water and soap and that usually removes any odor but a couple of times I've noticed that an odor will linger for a day despite multiple washings. You can boil it for a few minutes if you're really concerned about germs or share your toys.

One minor drawback of the A-bomb is that you can't use silicone lube with it. For me at least, ass play and silicone go together. Other members have used Crisco with success. I am going to give organic coconut oil a try and see how it holds up. Water based lube has worked for me thus far but I'm not thrilled with it.

As for storage, the box it came in works fine. I always store my toys in something so that incompatible materials don't come in contact with each other.

The packaging is clear plastic with an insert to hold the plug. It's kind of flimsy but it does the job. I use the outer packaging for storage but threw the insert away because it's a pain to get in and out of the box. There is obviously no mistaking what's in the package since it's clear.

As with all of my plugs, my intent for the A-Bomb was and is for daily use and stretching vs. during masturbation or sex. It gives me significant prostate stimulation but due to its size, I doubt that I could achieve, much less maintain an erection with it inserted.
