Ooh la la.

Although it's hard to get out of the jar (minus one star) it smells delicious without being overpowering and doesn't leave a sticky residue behind. Reapplication is necessary often because it absorbs into the skin quickly so if you are looking to give long massages, you may want to try something else.

Use

This massage gel is what you would want to give your honey a nice foot rub after a long day or ease out their tense shoulders after a stressful week at work. It has a label saying it's safe for all skin types but check all of the ingredients if you are prone to skin allergies. Its main ingredients are listed as soybean oil, sweet almond oil and jojoba seed oil which may be a problem for those with severe soy or nut allergies. It also lists being sugar-, paraben- and sulfate-free as well. The gel contains many oils and vitamin A and E which are very good for your skin.

Like all oil based products, I do not recommend this for personal lubrication with latex condoms. Also, because it is filled with many ingredients and perfumes I would not use it for anything other than external massaging. Grab a different product intended and labeled as a lubricant for that.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is an interesting product because it is in a gel form in the jar but once touched the warmth of your hands turn it into an oil. I thought for quite some time about how to describe it to you; the best thing I can think of is the canned jellied cranberry sauce that comes in a can (Thanksgiving on my mind obviously). It is pretty hard in the jar; it's definitely thicker than a hair gel. Once it touches your body heat though, it turns into a liquid, making it actually a little difficult to get out of the jar because it liquefies instantly. It's a little bit of a messy process getting it out of the jar and I wish it were in a tube and could be squeezed out instead.

Taste / Aroma

I received the Parisian Lavender smell and it definitely has an aroma with lavender present along with a nice, light citrus smell as well. I am usually very sensitive to smell and do not like overpowering scents. I found this gel the perfect amount of scent for me. I could smell the lavender and citrus, but I wasn't getting a headache from a really strong scent. If you want a light scent this product is great but if you want a stronger scent that you can smell from across the room, you may be disappointed. Also, it says that it contains pheromones on the package. I'm not sure which of the ingredients are supposed to be the pheromones but as far as I know, my libido was not spiked from the smell. It is a sexy, delicious smell nonetheless.

I tried tasting it for the review and it does not have a taste.

Performance

The best part about this product is how it rubs in so nicely. After your massage, you will not have to jump in the shower to wash off the product. It really moisturizes the skin and doesn't leave any sticky residue behind. It does leave a slight sheen from all the oils but the skin feels very smooth and soft. Since it does rub in well, you may have to reapply if you are giving a long massage but I think this is a much better alternative than a sticky, gross residue. Even if you have to reapply a few times, the amount that comes in the jar (3.2 oz) is definitely enough to last you many massages because it turns into a thinner oil upon contact with warm skin. Its price tag is definitely worth the amount you get in the jar.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Not compatible with all materials

Packaging

This comes in a little cardboard box and inside a clear plastic jar with a black lid. The lid seals tightly making it spill free. It is a small jar so it's pretty discreet and the lettering is not obnoxious so you could leave it on your bedside table and no one would notice.

The packaging is elegant, you would still need to wrap it before but it would definitely make a great gift. Also, the tight sealing lid and plastic jar makes it great for travel. It is 3.2 ounces so you could even take it as a carry on during a flight if necessary.

    • Does not leak
    • Messy dispenser
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

The gel has not been tested on animals and is also made in the US.

Experience

I really enjoyed using this product. The light scent gave a great ambiance for the massage and neither my partner nor I were too sticky afterwards. It really does moisturize the skin well, but the two problems I had with it were that it is very difficult to get out of the jar and onto your hands because it is in a hard jelly form and that you do need to reapply often throughout the massage. I also used it to moisturize my legs after a shower and it was a nice post shower treat to deeply saturate the skin and give them a nice shine.

For a quick massage or even just a scented oil moisturizer, I would recommend this product. I just need to start researching how to give better massages because I learned the hard way that just because you have a high quality massage gel, you don't become a natural masseuse.
Follow-up commentary
After a year, I never touched it again. Nothing about it really blew me away and it just didn't catch my attention.
