Pretty flowers, Watch for thorns... Ouch!

If you like larger, harder toys (power tools) you may enjoy this, but it simply was not for me. If anything, while I don't mind my sex play being loud, the engine on this thing kills the mood for me completely.

Use

This is a traditional vibrator, with a straight shaft and a pretty flower-embossed (raised) design. It can be used for clitoral stimulation or insertion into the vagina for penetration. As pictured, it does not have any bells or whistles and simply vibrates.

Material / Texture

This vibrator is made of Plastic. The plastic has a velvety feel to it and has the raised embossed design on it that covers the shaft up to about an inch from the end. You can feel the design, but it is mostly for decoration and does not do much for enhancing the stimulation.

The plastic is hard and non-flexible, coming to a point at the top.

I did not notice any smell from it, and from the information on the material it is a non-porous and phthalate-free material.

Design / Shape / Size

As stated, it is a straight shaft vibrator coming to a point at the end. It is 7 inches long with a diameter of 1-1/4 inches and an insertable length of 6-1/2 inches. While not necessarily too big of a vibrator, this one was too big for me. You could travel with it, but it's pretty noticeable.

I received it as a free gift from Eden, and even though I looked at it I was shocked when I received it by how big it was. 7 inches didn't seem that long and 1-1/4 diameter also didn't seem too big, but it looked like I was ready for combat with this in my hand.

It felt big and bulky for me (I am short and tend to be a bit on the small and tight side) so just looking at it intimidated me, but I thought... well let's give it a test drive.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Okay so first off: This vibrator takes 2 "C" batteries to function. This also scared me because I thought, "WOW, power tool in my hand, can I really handle it?"

Even with the big batteries though, it was not as powerful as I expected it to be. On the bottom, where the batteries go, it has a dial so you can strengthen the vibrations by turning the dial. At the highest setting it has a pretty powerful vibe to it, but it sounds like a motorcycle is in the room with you! This is an exaggeration, but compared to my other toys this one is extreme on sound. With the amount of sound it makes I expected it to be a jackhammer on power, but it's really no more powerful than some of my other vibes.

Now, more about the sound: This thing is loud from the second you turn the dial and it starts to work. At the lowest setting it sounds like a low growl by a little dog. GRRRRRRRRRR. As you turn the dial it becomes literally more like a jackhammer sound, very rumbling and loud. This toy is one that I expect to have the neighbors come knocking on the door saying, "Hey can you keep it down, we're trying to sleep!" It can be heard beyond the covers, out the door and down the hall.

Waterproof? NO. The cap for the batteries is not watertight, so water can get in and ruin the toy.

Update on sound (June 4, 2011): As I was going through packaging to get rid of things and clean up my toybox, I noticed a slip of paper. It came from inside this vibrator showing what batteries to use and how to install them. In reading further, it stated to keep the paper IN the vibrator to reduce noise. I put this paper back in with the batteries and there was a noticeable difference in the sound. It is still noisy, but not so much like a jackhammer. You might still be able to hear it behind the door, but at least it is a little less noticeable.

Care and Maintenance

Given the plastic nature, this toy is both easy to store and easy to clean.

Basically you can just wash with soap and water to clean it, or use cleaning wipes or a toy cleaner. Just remember to take batteries out before washing with water or other liquid, and to fully dry the vibrator before putting the batteries back in. For a little more on the thorough cleaning of this toy see Experience section below.

It's easy to store as it is hard plastic and doesn't collect lint or other dirt. You can just throw it in a drawer and rinse it off quickly before using.

According to Eden's Material List, this can be used with Water, Oil, or Silicone-based lubricants.

Packaging

This was a freebie gift with purchase from Eden. It came in a basic, easy to open see through plastic package. The package itself is not really good for storage as it would just take up more space in your drawer when you can just throw the vibrator in a drawer by itself.

It also came with a simple Vibrator Instruction Manual which had the following: Battery Insertion Instructions, Electrical Malfunction, Instructions for Use, and Warnings. It doesn't seem to be specific to this toy, just general information in English, German, Dutch, French, Italian and Spanish.

Personal comments

While this might be a toy for some, it was definitely not for me. This will be going in the back of my toy chest, probably never to be used again.

Experience

Okay so here's my experience with this toy: First I will state that I am fairly small, and while I can handle a fairly large girth, length can sometimes really hurt me. Given that this was a freebie with purchase for me, I glanced at it thinking it was pretty and looked nice so I didn't look at the information very well or read any reviews. I expected it to be something like Sparkle Vibes or Mini Neon in size so I was shocked that it was so big.

I was up for trying it anyway, despite how big it was, and put the vibrator to use. Beyond the fact that the noise kind of killed my mood, it was too much for my little vagina. After I got into it (or rather it got into me) I found that the fact that it was not soft and flexible made it very uncomfortable. I then quickly discovered that the point at the end was even more uncomfortable, as it did not tickle my G-spot but poked at it. The embossed pattern did nothing to enhance any stimulation, and I mostly felt like I was trying to pierce my insides-- hence the thorn reference.

Lastly to note-- I tend to use vibes when my hubby is away or I am menstruating. This happened to be a time of both. The reason I bring this up is not to be gross, but given that the toy had blood on it afterward, I noticed while cleaning it that the groves from the embossed flowers on the toy were harder to clean than realized. With clear liquid, any goo in the cracks are not noticeable, but with blood I noticed that I had to scrub the design area of the toy more than I thought to get into the little crevices of the design. Basically I took to scrubbing it with an old toothbrush. It wasn't hard to do, meaning that you didn't have to scrub hard, but that was the only way to get into the crevices of the design. As such, I would highly recommend that if you like it and use it you give a little scrubbing to it when you clean it.
