People, please stop robbing and killing people in porn stores. It's depressing. All those folks are trying to do is get a nut, make a buck and sell some adult media, and here you come with your clubs and your knives and mow them down.

We appreciate that you need the money. Who doesn't? The economy is in the toilet, the nation's unemployment rate is through the roof and Christmas is a month and three days away. (Better get shopping, “Santa Claus”!) But we've got to imagine there are better ways of doing it than robbing and killing a porn shop clerk.

This sad tale comes to us from Brooklyn, N.Y., and no one's quite sure exactly what happened.

A 61-year-old man popped down to the porn shop on 3rd Avenue near 25th Street for a quick video session and some masturbation. But while inside, he was disturbed by the sounds of a struggle. When he emerged from the booth, he found the clerk, 53-year-old Nimala Randunu, dead on the floor. The customer called 911 and reported the crime, and officers found video of the perpetrator on a security camera. But if the image they're showing in the media's all they've got, they're never catching this guy.

“It’s very sad,” said Vertino Rodriguez, 44, who works in a liquor store across the street. “[Nimala Randunu's] a good guy. He came from Sri Lanka to make a living. He worked five or six nights a week here.”

NYPD was forced to rifle through sex toys, videos, lube and lingerie for evidence of the crime. They're calling the incident a botched robbery, though nothing appeared to be missing from the register.
