Researchers with The Journal of Sexual Medicine reported that females who have vaginal orgasms often are more likely to say that size matters, claiming they climax more easily with larger penises. Women who prefer regular penis in vagina intercourse more than other types of sex are also more likely to say size is important to them. During their research, they interviewed 323 women. They defined an average penis length to be 5.8 to 6.1 inches long. They found that 160 of the women experienced vaginal orgasms and had had enough sex partners to compare size. Of these women, 33.8 per cent preferred longer-than-average length, 60 per cent said it didn’t matter and 6.3 per cent said shorter was better.
Interestingly, those who reported the most vaginal orgasms in the past month were the most likely to say that size matters. Some researchers agree that the findings match general female preferences, while others aren’t as convinced, saying that there is just too much variability in preferences and too many factors to consider when you start getting down to specifics like different types of orgasms.
There is still scientific debate concerning the female orgasm when it comes to the difference between vaginal and clitoral orgasms. Some scientists say there are specific, different nerves carrying signals to the brain from the two different areas, with stimulation activating separate brain regions. On the other hand, other researchers argue that vaginal stimulation just activates a different section of the clitoris. Though women claim different sensations between the two types of orgasms, it really just comes down to personal preference when it comes to which women like best. However, the study is pretty much limited to Scottish university students and needs to be reproduced on a larger scale.
In some situations, female orgasms are even more complex. For example, women with spinal cord injuries can sometimes experience g-spot orgasms, even though the nerves are severed, meaning that the vagus nerve which doesn’t go through the spinal cord, may be used to carry the signals in these cases. In other situations, abdominal exercises have induced female orgasms. Earlier research even correlated girls who are made aware of orgasms in their youth were more likely to be able to orgasm vaginally later on. Interesting vagina research indeed.
