In this crazy, mixed up world, there are a lot of things lurking around every corner, ready to ruin our day, isn’t there? And now add this to the list, is really ugly underwear. Nothing is safe, not even our butts.

“We know that bad hair days can affect women's moods, but who knew that bad underwear days could also ruin their day?” says Lisa Lee Freeman, the editor in chief of ShopSmart magazine, which is under the Consumer Reports publishing banner. ShopSmart conducted a survey of 1,008 women over the age of 18, asking them about how their sexy lingerie made them feel.

Says Freeman, “The first thing we put on in the morning does make a difference in our day.”

Forty seven percent of women surveyed said that a special pair of panties makes them feel sexier and more confident, while 27 percent said that that yes, an ugly, ill-fitting or uncomfortable pair of drawers affected their moods for the worse. And one out of 10 women said that, occasionally, they just go without underwear altogether—now that sounds like the makings for a very good day indeed.
