Cellphone companies aren't having the best of luck when it comes to naming their products, these days. Or maybe they are, and the joke's on the rest of us? In any case, the names of at least three new cellphones coincide with or are associated with the names of some very adult things.

Let's start with Apple's Siri, shall we? Apple's website says, “Siri is the intelligent personal assistant that helps you get things done just by asking. It allows you to use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more.” Well, this Siri, by LELO, isn't voice activated, but it is rather innovative. And personal experience tells us it's delicious. (Question: Will Apple's Siri ever be smart enough to do phone sex?)

Nokia's faux pas might be just a bit more embarrassing than that. They've called it the Lumia, which Wikipedia tells us is a “term coined by 20th Century Artist Thomas Wilfred to refer to art created from light.” But according to a report on TechnoLog on MSNBC, this word is also Spanish slang “prostitute.”

Most recently, however, we've got AT&T's HTC Vivid. You porn enthusiasts know what we're talking about.

Vivid Entertainment knows what we're talking about, too, and has served HTC with a cease-and-desist letter that says the phone being named Vivid “creates the false impression that your company and your company's products are affiliated, connected or associated with and/or sanctioned by Vivid Entertainment and is likely to cause confusion among consumers.”

We're not sure who'd be getting the better end of the deal.
