We’ll concede that finding out the person you were dating was not the sex they presented themselves as is “The Crying Game.” But finding out that your boyfriend is actually a lesbian sex offender … that’s new.

It happened to Nicole Lindsay, a single mother of two young girls who discovered her “boyfriend’s” secret when the police told her he was actually Samantha Brooks and had been in jail for abusing a 14-year-old girl. Brooks “used a modified wooden toilet roll holder in their sexual relationship,” and had told Lindsey he was uncomfortable being naked in front of partners after having testicular cancer. Brooks explained the bandages that hid her breasts by saying she had been scarred by a previous partner.

Brooks made “first contact” with Nicole in 2001 when she was 14 but the pair didn’t meet in person for another five years. They dated but split up in 2007 after which Brooks wrote to say she was in prison for beating up a pedophile, “But,” the Daily Mail says, “ unknown to her Brooks had been jailed for 18 months at Isleworth Crown Court of sexual offences against a girl of 14 and put on a sex offenders' register for 10 years.”

They reunited after Brooks’ released and had planned to get married.

Brooks had been charged with “obtaining sex by deception” from Nicole and another friend and also two counts of assault but police dropped the charges when the friend “withdrew her cooperation from prosecutors.”
