If you're looking for a spa quality product that is safe for sensitive skin, then the Dona Body Wash is a must have. With six scents to select from, there's something for everyone. It's gentle enough for daily use, and it leaves your skin soft with a hint of fragrance. Why go to the spa when you can have the spa at home?!Opening the top of the pump bottle, I automatically noticed the color and thickness of the product. It looked like runny honey, and was quite thin in nature. A pretty golden color, which is thin enough that it can drip and run from your hands.
It is smooth and silky, without any trace of a sticky or oily feeling. A little goes a long way with this body wash, as you will only need a few pumps of the liquid. With its clear appearance, the body wash easily lathers on your skin, leaving a thin milky lather of bubbles, and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean.
After the body wash has been washed away, it leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. There's no drying of the skin or tightness, and once the skin is dry, the skin is left with a velvety feeling. If you want to leave your skin super soft, follow using one of Dona's Body Lotions.
There are six different aromas to chose from: Pomegranate, Acai, Goji Berry, Camu Camu, Mangosteen, and Blue Lotus. The scent that I received was the Pomegranate, which smells just like the fruit but with a hint of citrus and spice. The smell fresh out of the bottle is quite refreshing and has a bit of a soothing effect. It's not overpowering, but it will fill the washroom with it's pleasant fragrance. The smell will fill up the apartment and last for quite some time.
The scent lightly kisses the skin once it's washed off, and leaves a light trace. The scent absorbs into the skin nicely, leaving a lightly sweet yet fresh smell.
When it comes to the taste of the product, it tastes somewhat sweet. I was actually surprised at how mild the taste to the product was, but I guess that's due to the natural properties of the product. I don't advise drinking, licking, or eating the body wash, as it's not meant for that. If you were to kiss someone's body after using this product, you wouldn't have to worry about an unpleasant taste.
The Dona Body Wash is by far an excellent quality product. I would actually compare this to products that would be used at a spa. A little sure goes a long way, and with the size of the bottle this is well worth the price. The body wash is rich and gentle as it exfoliates the body. It leaves your skin feeling clean, refreshed, and soft. The aroma is amazing and pleasantly fills the washroom, leaving a sense of relaxation. The scent is long lasting on the skin, feels natural without an oily feeling, and makes you feel like you spent the day at that spa!
When it comes to the packaging of this product, it is quite simple, and is fully recyclable. It came wrapped in a clear plastic bag, to help when it comes to leakage during travel. The bottle is made of clear plastic that is well made, and includes a pump dispenser. There is a nice little sticker on the product that shows that the bottle has never been opened. The bottle is well made: there was no leakage during the shipping.
The bottle measures 6" high, and 2" in diameter, and is 9.5oz/269g in weight. With the bottle being clear plastic, you're able to see the honey-like product through it. There is a label that runs around the whole bottle which is a dark purple color, with the appearance of black lace on top. The front shows the "DONA by JO" at the top, along with "an aphrodisiac infused ritual" written just below. In the middle it states: "pomegranate", "Body Wash". All writing is written in white lettering.
The back of the bottle contains the product description, instructions, ingredients, and company information. The writing on the back contains a solid black background, with white writing.
Ingredients:
Purified Water (Aqua), Sodium C 14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Saccharide Isomerate, Sodium Chloride, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) berry, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Fruit, Morinda Citrifolia (Noni) Fruit, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf, Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen) Pericarp Extracts, Propanediol, Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.
The side of the bottle has four little icon-like pictures stating: "paraben free", "cruelty free", "natural", and "petro. deriv. free". These would stand for: No Petrochemicals, No Phthalates, No Triclosan, and Parabens free.
With this body wash, it states that it's supposed to have an aphrodisiac type of effect to it. It sure does awaken the senses, and makes for a wonderful at home spa experience.
I have sensitive skin, as I suffer from psoriasis, and I found that this body wash was gentle enough for my skin. With its natural properties, and the fact that the product is cruelty free, this is a wonderful product compared to others. With the option of six scents there's something for everyone in the family. The aroma isn't too strong, it leaves your skin kissed with a light fragrance.
If you're looking for a spa quality product that has many scent options, that's natural, cruelty free, and safe for sensitive skin... look no further!
