Described as a balm, this Berry Balm is a thick lip serum. It has a gel like quality to it when it is warmed with the finger that is used to apply it. It is so smooth and slick that only a single swirl of the finger is needed to cover each lip, two at most. It is very uniform and no granules can be felt. The balm is slightly pink, but doesn't add a pink tint to the lips. Because it is thick, it adds a bit of bulk and volume to the lips too!
The Strawberries & Cream smells exactly like a delicious dessert. It smells like powdered candy. The scent is strong in the container, but lightly detectable on the lips. The balm is also flavored. The flavoring is also very light, so it isn't nauseating.
Berry Balm is an all occasion lip gloss. It is more noticeable than a chap stick lip cover and provides a sexy gloss to the lips. Berry Balm hydrates the lips, smooths chapping, and eases any burning associated with it. This is your friend in all seasons, but can really protect you from the cold winter wind. Providing long-lasting coverage, Berry Balm rarely needs to be reapplied. It's a pleasure each and every time. Berry balm can add a gloss to any lip tint or dye. Mix it with a little powder blush or eyeshadow to add a tint too.
Eventually, the balm will soak into the lips and continue to keep them from chapping. If you want to remove the balm prior to that, it will need to be washed off with soap.
Berry Balm comes in a pretty jar made of thick plastic. The amount is very generous and provides 1 ounce (30g) of the balm. The black top screws off easily. The opening is a large size so it is easy to get out. The cute pink band has little details that make this a great gift. The jar doesn't leak at all, so it is safe in the most expensive of purses, coat pockets, or makeup bags. The back shows the company website and ingredients.
Here are my non descriptive review, subjective comments:
I really like this balm! It is thick so it adds bulk. It's shiny, but not in that cheap looking way. You know what I'm talking about... It does last a pretty long time, but it can feel sticky at times, especially when it is cold outside. I like the smell, but my boyfriend is totally not a fan. Thankfully, the flavor is so light that I didn't even know it was flavored til I read the product description. There is only one real con with this balm for me, I have to wipe it off if I want to kiss my partner. If I wait long enough, he isn't bothered by it, but that means I wear this away from him most of the time or only apply it early on in our dates out.
