- The stories in Daughters of Darkness are definitely not porn. These are stories that are about vampires, space vampires, and people who like vampires. The stories mostly just hint at sex rather than tell the tales of sex. They are very detailed and well-written stories, they're just not sex stories.
These stories are much more about vampires and THINKING about sex, than they are actual sex stories.
This book is more sensual than sexual and more about mental sex than physical sex.
For someone who likes vampire stories, this is a great book.

- Daughters of Darkness is a sturdy, well-made (like all of the Cleis Press books) trade paperback, closing out at 235 pages, with an additional ten or so pages of references (Filmography and Bibliography). The cover does say "lesbian vampire tales" and although it features ladies with fangs in closeup. It does NOT say 'erotic stories' anywhere on the cover, so in that sense it could be considered a discreet cover.

- This book was descriptive of the blood and other vampire-inflicted damage in the stories which to me is not sexy.

This book isn't worth reading. I would especially not suggest getting this book if you have problems with children (aged 13) being forced into having sex.

For the die hard vampire genre fan this is a great read! The stories are lush, erotic and about a section of vampirism that sometimes gets overlooked; the lesbian vampire. Some of the stories are classics and some are quite contemporary but all have something to offer the interested reader.

For the love of the Gods, Goddesses or anything you consider sacred, if you like lots of hot and heavy vampire sex, don't waste your time reading the rest of this review. Hit the back button, and go somewhere else. The sex in Daughters of Darkness isn't worth the wait.

Unless you are just looking for lesbian vampire stories with no real sex to speak of, you may want to look elsewhere. Some of the stories are alright but it just wasn't what I was expecting.

'Daughters of Darkness' is a mix of stories from very talented authors all giving their take on the lesbian vampire genre. It might be a book for a very particular person. Although this book doesn't have too much sex, some of the stories were very creative.

This compilation is done by edited by someone who loves Vampire stories, weather they are erotic or not seems not to matter. Some of the stories were exceptional, while others put me to sleep. There are a few gems in here worth mentioning.
