It's made of a velvety soft, flexible silicone fitted over a firm shaft. The shaft has a hard exterior closer to the tip, but it's rather bendable in the middle because the hard shaft has a flexible point there. The silicone has a slightly opalescent sheen that looks beautiful in the light.
The tip resembles the point of a tongue, and makes for easy insertion since it widens gradually. The waves along the shaft gently increase the sensation of penetration. I found the size to be a bit on the generous side but far from overwhelming, and the tip made it easy to insert and get used to. It's supposed to be 1 3/4 thick at its widest points, but it didn't feel that way to me.
This vibe is definitely on the weak side. The plastic dial at the base turn the vibe one and increases the intensity, but the range is quite limited. I felt that I had to keep it on higher settings to feel a meaningful buzz; the low- and medium-range settings were just too subtle for me. The vibrations themselves, however, are very nice and buzzy, not tinny at all and well-transmitted throughout 3/4 of the vibe.
Because it has electrical components, you cannot boil this entire silicone and plastic vibe in order to sterilize it. You can, however, wash it with a 10% bleach and water solution, then wash again with soap and water and rinse well in order to sterilize the pure silicone shaft.
Use only water-based lube on this silicone shaft.
It takes 2 AA batteries, and to extend the life of the toy, also be sure to remove the batteries for storage.
Very uniquely, this German-made vibe comes with a 5-year warranty on the materials and a 2-year warranty on all other parts. You must keep your original sales receipt in order for your warranty to be honored.
It comes with information about the warranty and product line, a small lube sample packet, and a 50ml sample of Aquaglide water-based lube, which is pretty nice. I'm not sure why there's a small and large sample of the same lube, but it's a nice touch all the same.
