  Without trying to sound all braggy, I have to say I am a bit of an expert on floggers in general, and the Floggerella in particular, having owned several over the years. I found Mistress Nein's initial review to be generally correct, and I think I may be able to shed some additional light on its value from a BDSM practitioner point of view. I have seen these things for sale at fetish stores right across the continent, snuggled up alongside urethral sounds fitted with electrodes (for attaching current bearing wires to), so they clearly have a following among serious SM folk. I should mention that there are real differences in sensation between the three versions on offer here. The pink is made from patent pigskin, which is really light. Try as you might, the only way to hurt yourself with that puppy is to poke yourself in the eye with it. The purple is made of deerskin, and the black is goatskin, both of which have way more impact than the pig; with the deer having a slight edge over the goat in terms of light sting. As I understand it, the Floggerella is designed to be a hugely non-threatening entry level flogger for vanilla folk. It is light, teasing, tantalizing, and while we're on t's, let's not forget titillating. It's an antidote to the frenzied media cliché of SM. How can anything so pretty be wrong? And yet it's still kind of naughty, and when you get it sharply on the nipples, it's, ooh, even kind of stimulating….. And that's part of the attraction of the Floggerella for more seasoned BDSM players - they are small enough to get into places you can't swing anything larger, and they are light enough to put a buzz on areas that are too delicate to take anything harder. I'm thinking primarily of the goat and deer versions, and mostly, but not exclusively, of the genital areas. Floggerellas are really good to start a scene off with, though on their own they're not usually enough to sustain it, and you would want to switch to something else from your fabulously well equipped toybox. Afterward, they make nice "cooling off" toys to bring a scene back down to earth with a light, soft dusting. There is a common misconception among people unfamiliar with BDSM practice that the goal of SM is to cause as much pain as possible, as quickly as possible. In fact, most SM scenes will start off lightly, build up to the level the sub wants to play at, and then level off, before slowly coming back down. The play may involve intense pain, or it may not. It may be localized, or widespread. It may be the equivalent of a massage, or a beating. It may simply be tickling and teasing. Everyone who plays decides where they want to be on that spectrum, each time they play. Personally, I like hot food. Mouth incinerating thai curries. But I also like cheese sandwiches, mashed potato, ice cream, spinach and soft boiled eggs. What I eat depends on what I feel like. That's how the Floggerella fits into the world of BDSM.
