A perfect fit

The fact that I am having a hard time putting the Floggerella down long enough to work on writing this review should speak to how incredibly pleased I am with it. For me, it is actually the perfect size and the sting of the leather the purple version is made out of is just delightful. The size, length, and number of flails also mean it would be enjoyable for gentle sensation play along with or instead of actual flogging.

Use

I think this is a flogger with a wide variety of uses, especially depending upon who uses it and how. I am a very petite 5'2" and literally thin-skinned and this was perfect for wielding and for using on myself. As mentioned in other reviews, each colour is a different type of leather and the purple has a lovely sting to it. Some thud is also possible, but this is perfect if you want sting and also don't want to leave marks that won't fade quickly and easily. The handle portion is around an inch shorter than my forearm and the flails are maybe two inches longer than it, so this is perfectly sized as a beginner's flogger. If you are interested in working with larger and longer floggers, this one would be good to practice aim and technique with before moving up. It is also excellent if you want to focus on smaller and more delicate areas or want to warm up or cool down someone after a heavier flogging. Really, it is a great all-around flogger and you are limited only by what you can think of in terms of how it can be used. It would also make for interesting sensation play, since the flails can be dragged along or tickled above the skin in addition to actually being used to deliver a flogging. Incredibly pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it to users of all experience levels.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

This is an excellent design, whether you want a specialized flogger for small areas or one sized perfectly for smaller hands and wrists. The hand strap, which is made of a length of the same high-quality leather as the flails, fits me perfectly and is ideal for hanging even if others' hands are too large to make use of it. The flails themselves are all evenly cut and of the same length. So far I have had no problems with tangles or detached flails and do not expect to. Construction is solid and this is an excellent investment, especially for the quality of the leather and ease of use and storage.

The leather has a light scent to it but I had to put my head close in order to detect it. If you love the smell of real leather like I do, this is a slight disappointment, but it also means there is no distracting odour for those who don't. The purple is a gorgeous colour and matches quite well to a dark purple and black corset I own. The black handle has a slight bit of flex to it but does not seem weak or problematically bendy. Overall an excellent product and one I expect to have with me for the long-haul.

Performance

This flogger has as very nice sting to it, especially if you have good aim and intensity behind your swings. Depending on your aim, you can also have the middle section of the falls, instead of the ends, hit. You get closer to a "thuddy" sensation with this and it can be nice to mix in with the stings or use before or after them. I personally did not have the falls tangle on me and this was just a delight to use. It is rather easy to aim and while I do not have anyone to help me conduct further testing at the moment, it would likely work wonderfully to flog the back of someone my size. There is simply less area to be covered so while for some this may be too tiny for other than a warm-up or specialized use on small areas like genitalia, this is the perfect flogger for me.

Care and Maintenance

Since I do not have any wall hooks and have some need for discretion, right now the handle loop is put over the top of a (plastic) hanger that I then hung up on the rod in my closet. It keeps the flails hanging down evenly and untangled and makes the flogger very easy to find and access and easy to keep away from mess and dust, since leather has different cleaning requirements and a different level of cleaning possible than something like rubber or faux leather. It is rather easy to find leather cleaning instructions, including online, so I will not repeat them here. Just remember to keep the flails untangled and even and to enjoy your Floggerella!

Packaging

The only packaging is a small, well-designed tag from Leatherbeaten with the company name and what seems to be slightly medieval-esque artwork with unclothed or semi-clothed figures holding petite floggers on the front (there is an Eden barcode sticker on top of most of the artwork so it is slightly hard to tell fully). The back has a creative and admittedly somewhat amusing product description blurb and names both the product and its country of manufacture, Canada.

And now for the blurb, simply because it is too good not to share (although I summarized it for a friend and she thanked me for not directly copying down the wording for her because she did 'not' need to be thinking about grandparents and floggers in the same thought!):

"Made of light, sensuous leather, Floggerella is as playful as a kitten, but far more portable! We've given it such an unthreatening aspect that you could waggle it at your grandparents & they'd almost certainly waggle theirs back at you. It is, nonetheless, an effective tool for gentle stimulation of just about anywhere, and yes, Virginia, everyone should have a Floggerella!"
