Loa Exercise Balls

  • Material / Texture:

    The Loa is made of TPR, and in this instance that TPR is pretty stiff and plastic like - not 'mushy' like it can be in some TPR toys. This works well for the balls, at it makes them smooth and easily slicked up for insertion, and the 'neck' between the balls is thin and flexible enough to easily accommodate a full range of bending between the toys. However, the 'tail' of the toy doesn't feel so super-duper because of the stiffness of the material - it's not *bad* per se, or irritating to tissues (at least to me), but it does make the tail feel rather 'present'...as in, you're well aware it's there and it's stiff, unlike normal vaginal balls which just feature an inconsequential retrieval string. And while I do not have a cock, I find it very hard to believe that the stiff 'ring' on the tail of the Loa could work as a cock ring because the material is just not appropriate.

    On another note, I find it very disappointing that this toy is not made from silicone, because it is being marketed as a crossover anal/vaginal toy. Sanitization after (condom-free) anal use is a must, and TPR cannot be fully sanitized as it is somewhat porous.

    Unlike most kegel-cising balls out there in sex toy land, the two beads that Loa is made of are connected off center, such that Loa can easily adapt a relaxed bend when slid into place in a waiting orifice. This is particularly relevant if you wish to use Loa as anal beads, as it makes the toy feel quite natural when worn. I have already noted my qualms with the material, but I would like to emphasize that the 'retrieval tail' is rather stiff and unyielding and while this is beneficial in terms of preventing Loa from going missing on an anal adventure, it's a little less soothing on the sensitive tissue around the anus.

  • Performance:

    Loa's beads are very jiggly, and their jiggly-ness translates into low level vibrations when in place in the body. Loa rattles quite satisfyingly during most intense activity, and actually feels pretty darned cool when used anally during vaginal intercourse, because the beads act to massage the penetrating penis through the perineum. Despite my qualms about the material, these beads are actually fairly outstanding.

  • Care and Maintenance:

    Wash Loa in warm soapy water for storage and keep it away from really soft TPR toys to avoid color transfer from Loa's dark pigmentation. Stay away from silicone and oil based lubes - or rather, do a spot test to begin with if you absolutely must use something slipperier than water based lube. And of course, if using this toy both vaginally and anally, be sure to sheath Loa in a fresh condom before use, just to prevent cross contamination. Same goes for sharing with a friend.

    I was unable to really extensively test out Loa for this review because of sudden and unwelcome Dr's orders, so I feel it important to disclose that I barely tried out Loa vaginally, so cannot really comment on long term comfort of defectiveness compared to smartballs, luna beads and the like. I will report in a follow up review when I can...
