The Sqweel 2 is made from 2 materials. The tongue wheel, which is what touches the body, is made of soft silicone. Each tongue is velvety and smooth. While the individual tongues don't have much drag, the rotating wheel may feel rough on skin. Lubricating the wheel (and clitoris) helps with this. Since the wheel is silicone, be sure and use a water based lube. Silicone is a great material for sex toys since it is nonporous, phthalates free, and can be sterilized. It rates a 10/10 on Eden's safety scale. The tongue wheel can be taken off the toy to be cleaned.
The bottom portion and the cap are made of plastic. None of the plastic parts come into contact with the body very much. It is a thick and strong plastic. Plastic rates an 8/10 on Eden's safety scale. It is nonporous and phthalates free, and very easy to clean.
Sqweel 2 is about the size of my hand. It is shaped somewhat like a shell. Sqweel has 4 separate parts - the tongue wheel, the base, the front cover, and the dome cover.
The tongue wheel is what makes this toy special. The wheel reminds me of a flower, or sun with slanted rays. Each tongue is about 1 inch high and .75 inches wide. They slant up and to the right. When first turned on, the Sqweel runs counterclockwise, and the tongues easily graze the clit. This is the easiest way to use it. Pick a speed and enjoy the oral action. Reversing the direction works against the natural slant. It provides a bumpier feel. It is a bit more difficult to hold in reverse so that it doesn't slow down. With some practice, it works well.
The base portion of the "shell" slopes in, making it easy to grip. The holder is not symmetrical. The left side is lower than the right, allowing more room for the tongues to lick. The control buttons are located on this portion, and the battery compartment is in the back.
The front cover comes off, revealing the wheel. This makes it easy to apply lube without taking the entire toy apart. It snaps in place easily, and it has a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism is to lock the cover together; it does not lock the toy.
It has a transparent plastic dome cap that protects the tongue wheel when in storage. It unsnaps easily for use.
Sqweel 2 works differently than a vibrator. Vibrators are rated on their intensity strength. This works by speed, not strength. The tongues spin around and lick the clit. It can be enjoyed at 3 different speeds, and it also can change direction. As if that's not enough, it can also flick the tongues back and forth. It works best to hold it lightly on the clit and let the tongues flutter away. Holding it too close will slow down or even stop the wheel. It's not a toy that allows for very much pressure; a small amount of pressure is possible. It changes the sensation, but is still pleasant. Too much pressure and it will cease to work.
The control buttons are on the base. The larger button in the center turns it on and off and controls the speed. It is easy to press and use. When pressed, it will always start rotating forward at the lowest speed. Hit this button again to increase the speed. To the right of this is a smaller button that controls the reverse and flickering settings. To change to the backwards rotation, hit this button. It will rotate backwards at whatever speed it was set on. The speed can be increased or decreased in this mode by hitting the center button. Pressing the smaller button a second time will change it to the forwards/backwards flickering setting. Hitting it a third time will change it back to the forwards motion. Both of the buttons light up when in use. Holding the center button down for 3 seconds will shut it off.
The directions recommend applying water based lube to the wheel, and also the clitoris, before using. An easy way to apply the lube is to take off the front cover and apply a dab to each tongue. A little bit goes a long way: if too much is applied, it drips during use. It's also best to wash any lube off hands before using. Slippery hands will have a difficult time holding the plastic.
Sqweel 2 runs on 3 AAA batteries. The battery compartment is in the back. Proper battery placement is marked, but you have to look very closely to see it. It is not a waterproof or splash proof toy. Don't get the battery compartment wet.
This isn't the easiest toy to care for, but it's not too difficult. It comes apart in 4 pieces - the plastic cap, black holder, black front cover, and the tongue wheel. Of course, the wheel comes in contact with the body the most. Each tongue needs to be cleaned. The wheel can be washed with soap & water, a toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution. The wheel could also be boiled for sterilization.
Each of the plastic pieces can be washed with soap and water. Take care when washing the main base to not get water in the battery compartment. The entire toy should be left to air dry before putting back together. Once completely dry and assembled back together, it is ready to be stored until next time.
This arrived in a basic cutout box with plastic clamshell packaging. It is typical recyclable packaging, and not suitable for long term storing. The instruction pamphlet is easy to read and written in a wide variety of languages.
I really like the Sqweel 2. It was highly pleasing and arousing. While different than real oral sex, I found it to be just as much fun. I do wish I could apply a bit more pressure to it. Once I figured out exactly how to hold it and how much pressure I could apply, I was happy. It's truly a unique sex toy.
