Impulse? No!
This toy is definitely made for someone, but not for me. The seam alone drives me nuts, but add in a faulty bullet, unpleasant anal experience and difficult clean-up and you'll find this toy collecting dust in my drawer. The curves are amazing, but they weren't enough to win me over. Read more

The bullet uses batteries fairly quickly, and watch batteries are a little uncommon in most homes.

Best use:

The Impuls'o is like a breath of fresh air being blown into a stagnant mid-range sex toy market. For a moderate price, you get everything you should want and do deserve out of a sex toy. This toy is a p-or g-spot vibrator, if you want, or a great dildo for partner play because it fits on your finger for pretty great control. It has a handle so it rocks for solo play, and it's textured enough to be interesting but not so textured that it's no fun as an anal toy. And the bullet is like a superhero among watch battery bullets - it has ten settings. Ten! Three levels of intensity and seven excellent patterns that go at a great pace among those three levels...oh, and of course it's waterproof as well. This is an excellent toy for a beginner because it offers excellent value for the price tag, and is also an excellent choice for...well...anyone. The colors are fabulous and it's a nicely designed g or p spotter. What's not to love?

  • Material / Texture:

    The Impuls'o is made of 100% pure silicone which, although relatively standard in the toy industry, is still a mark of a quality toy. This version of silicone is molded such that the surface is like a semi-gloss; by that I mean it is relatively slick, but there is still some "bite" to it if you run a dry finger along its surface and it's not shiny. The texture of the silicone is nice when squeezed - like a good firm stress ball: some give, but some resistance.

    The toy itself displays a seam where the two halves were fused together - it's not bad but it is there. There is texturing to the silicone as well - ridges around a 'head' and swoops down the sides. This texturing is too subtle to really feel for the majority of women, I imagine, but it's important that it's there so that there is a bit more in-and-out friction during play, as this toy gets pretty slick when lubed up. The toy, as well, is overall 'bloopy', with the shaft being comprised of three balls artfully blended together into a shaft+head type set up. It is not a challenging texture in the slightest and feels pretty fantastic.

    The Impuls'o is short and slim; wider and longer than a finger (but not as wide as two). Since it features a nice handle a fair amount of the toy is useable making it very compact while still managing to be a fairly long insertable. The slightly pronounced head is at an angle which makes g or p spotting easy to do; more-so because the handle allows such good maneuverability and choice of angle. This toy is an excellent choice for a beginner looking to start up a toy collection or a more seasoned sex toy connoisseur looking for something inexpensive yet effective.

  • Functions / Performance / Controls:

    The bullet is waterproof via an o-ring, and features ten different vibration patterns that can be accessed via cycling clicks on a single button on the base. A separate on-off switch is always nice, but it wouldn't fit in with the design of this toy. The patterns are very standard - the stock ten patterns seen in many ten speed bullets. Don't get me wrong, however - it is amazing that a simple watch bullet toy offers so much. The bullet runs on three watch batteries (LR-44) and gobbles them up as quickly as one expects with watch battery vibes.

  • Care and Maintenance:

    Being that this is a solid silicone piece as well as a bullet vibe, care and maintenance starts when inserting the bullet into the silicone part - do yourself a favor and add a drop or two of water based lube to help you get the bullet out of the toy when cleaning up. Removing the bullet may be tricky, lube or not, but can be assisted by pinching the toy at the base of the bullet and squeezing it out that way. Unlike most toys with bullets, this bullet is unique and awesome, so try not to harm it by doing anything silly like using pliers to pull it free.

    Cleanup should be done with warm soapy water for both portions and thorough drying before storage as two separate pieces. The silicone portion is a hair magnet, so sticking it in a bag might be a good thing. In order to effectively sanitize this toy for use between anus and vagina, or between non-fluid bonded partners, the silicone portion may be boiled for 10 minutes and the bullet may be soaked in 10% bleach for 10 minutes (rinse well when done, and batteries removed prior to soak of course!)

  • Packaging:

    The Implus'o comes packaged in a plastic clamshell in an open face box, kind of like an action figure of sorts. The really cool part about this packaging is the small disc of the material that is suck in the corner of the box - you are able to touch and feel the material before buying. This is not really consequential to online ordering, but is HUGE is you are in a brick and mortar store that does not have samples of every item on display. I am really impressed with this very simple and common sense feature finally being used in sex toy packaging.

    The packaging is totally recyclable, very discreet, bright and fun, but not really suitable for future storage. And there are nice instructions included too, or course, in a bunch of languages.

  • Personal comments:

    I almost can't get over this toy. It's not that it's remarkable and groundbreaking - goodness no. It's just that it does everything right. This is what sex toy consumers should be getting out of EVERY toy. Clearly, we don't need premium prices to get quality materials and effective designs. Even the packaging - why can't every toy come in such open, bright, inviting packaging? Imagine walking into a sex shop and seeing inviting packaging that integrates a way to touch the material so you can really understand what you're buying before you get it home? Fabulous.
