This scrub is thick, really thick. It doesn't move in the jar at all. In fact, when it got here from its long journey from Atlanta, it was all sitting just as it was when it left. No product stuck to the lid whatsoever.
It feels like coarse granulated sugar in a smooth base, as it should. Using the enclosed scoop, it is easy to apply to any part of the body and scrub away.
Because of how thick it is, when you apply it to your body it does its job. Scoop it onto the area of skin you want and use your hands to massage it in. It will not drip away: it will stay where you want it until you rinse.
The smell of this scrub is divine. It is pomegranate ginger. The pomegranate is the main smell and smells delicious. The ginger comes into play in the base notes and just adds the slightest spice kick to it. The smell really does not last long at all and, once you get out of the shower, you will really have to bring your nose close to your skin to smell it. Within an hour the smell has pretty much vanished. All you are left with is smooth skin.
I have no desire to taste my new body scrub. Sorry guys.
The scrub goes on with no problems at all in the shower and rinses away clean. There is no greasy feeling left over at all. Because of the oil and shea butter base I would warn against using it on the face. If you have any problems with oil products on the face, this will surely cause you to break out. From the neck down, you're good to go.
I tried this on both arms in the shower. Coming out of the shower, I only applied moisturizer to the left and none to the right. My skin felt smooth to the touch but I wanted to see if it would last. I am happy to report that the silky smooth feeling of my skin lasted all day. My non moisturized arm was just as smooth as the moisturized one. The oil and shea butter base really do a great job of retaining moisture in the skin and keep the skin really soft.
