The Ali'se is made of a combination of silicone and plastic. The majority of this toy is silicone, being the lighter pink insertable part, but the base where the controls are and where you hold it is made of firm ABS plastic. Plastic is rated an 8 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale while silicone is rated a 10 out of 10.
Silicone is nonporous and body safe. This means that bacteria can't get underneath the surface and that it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals. Silicone is also flexible and usually soft, making it great for insertable toys. Silicone on its own can be boiled to disinfect it.
Plastic is also non-porous and body safe, but it's much firmer than silicone. Plastic cannot be boiled to disinfect it, but you can wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. You should disinfect the Ali'se with bleach every time you plan on switching users or orifices in order to prevent the spread of infection.
The insertable portion of this toy is actually very flexible and plush. The tip only has a moderate amount of give to it, but that is because it houses the strong motor. It is very easy to flex the tip of this toy to meet the base, but even so the girth alone puts enough g-spot pressure that most women won't wish it was more rigid.
The silicone portion of this toy is a bit of a lint magnet, but it's not as tacky as a lot of other toys out there. If you keep it in a clean area it's easy to simply wash it after every use. Because it doesn't have a whole lot of drag lube may not be necessary for all, but because of the girth most people will need some to make insertion more comfortable.
Overall, silicone is a great material that all users will be able to enjoy. Though it is fairly plush and flexible, the shape and girth make it great for g-spotting even though you can't exert a lot of pressure when thrusting with the Ali'se.
Design wise, the Ali'se is an artistic, feminine toy. While there are quite a few quality, silicone toys on the market right now, nothing quite looks or feels like this one does. Its flexibility and shape are going to make it something that a lot of women will enjoy.
This toy is about 7.5 inches long, making it fairly 'standard' for this style. About 5.5 inches of this toy are insertable for those who like deeper penetration, so you can insert it about as deep as the average penis length. The widest part of the tip is 5.5 inches around.
Ladies, if you're someone who is into toys with some girth at the tip that won't leave you feeling overly stretched at the entrance this is it. The tip and the base are both very wide, but once you get past that initial girth it narrows down quite quickly.
The shape of the Ali'se could be described as a woobly hourglass. It's got a very thick head and base, but the neck is less than an inch in diameter at the thinnest area. Towards the base there are also a few ripples (about 4 inches from the tip) that can be stimulating to either insert or to use clitorally.
Something about the design of this toy that is neat is that you can insert the tip and bend the base of the toy up to use clitorally. Though the vibrations are much stronger in the tip, this is still very stimulating because of the ridges. It really helps to add to the versatility of the Ali'se.
If you're looking to use this clitorally it's best for broad stimulation. The size and long handle make it ergonomic to use externally both for solo play and for use during intercourse. It's also much easier to hold than a bullet, and it's not going to numb your fingers if you hold it for a prolonged period of time.
If you left this toy on your desk it's pretty obvious what it is, so you may want to make sure you stash this away from preying eyes. It's overall travel friendly, though there is no locking feature to this toy. It's not going to look like a weapon to the TSA, but you may want to put it somewhere it's not going to accidentally get turned on.
Overall, the design of the Ali'se is versatile and gorgeous. I would not recommend this for people who can't take much initial girth, but if you enjoy a toy with a thicker tip and thinner shaft this is ideal.
Here's the Ali'se VS a pen:
Me barely trying to flex the toy:
And the charging port:
The Ali'se is made by a fairly new company, NS Novelties, but they sure knew what they were doing. This toy has power, multiple functions, it's rechargeable, it's waterproof, and it is easy to control. I think that most ladies (and men) are going to really enjoy this one.
As you can see in the above image, the Ali'se has only two buttons. There is a power button and a functions button. The on button has to be pressed before the toy will do anything, but if you just press that one, the only thing that happens is that the buttons light up.
Once you have turned it on and the buttons are lit up, you press the settings button to cycle through the different patterns. You can turn it off at any time by simply pressing the power button again, which means that you don't have to cycle through all the settings if you suddenly need to get quiet.
The settings are as follows:
1) Low (1.5 vrooms, .5 bees)
2) Medium (2.5 vrooms, 1 bee)
3) High (Just under 3.5 vrooms, 1.5 bee)
4) bbbbzzzzBBBBZZZZ bbbbzzzzBBBBZZZZ
5) BZZ BZZ BZZ BZZ
6) BZ BZ BZ BZ BZ
7) BZ BZ BZ BZ BZZZZ
And then if you press the button it cycles down to the lowest setting. If you turn the toy off and on again it also starts back off at the lowest setting.
Something that is a concern for a lot of people is the type of vibrations. This toy has VERY rumbly, deep vibrations that penetrate the surface well. This isn't as much a pro or con of the toy, but rather something of a personal preference.
The Ali'se is also entirely waterproof. You can see the charging port above. It consists of an open port with a removable silicone plug that goes over this toy. As long as you make sure that the plug is entirely in place and secure before playing in the water, there should be no problem with getting this toy wet.
When you plug the Ali'se in, the control panel blinks until it is charged. You get the toy charged, and after two hours of use it has not lost any power or noticeably run out of battery power. Though it should not be possible to overcharge this toy, it's still not recommended that you leave it plugged in all the time.
Overall, the Ali'se is a powerful and quiet toy. The different intensities make it great for more sensitive users and those who need a bit more power. It's also waterproof, and the patterns are just lovely to play around with.
The Ali'se is fairly easy to care for, especially as far as silicone toys go. Because it has very little drag to it, if you keep it in a clean place you can easily just wash it after every use. You can wash it with an antibacterial toy cleaner, soap and water, or a toy wipe.
If you plan on switching orifices or users, you should always disinfect your toy. You can do this by wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution. This kills any bacteria that could be living on the surface and prevents the spread of infection.
This toy should be kept in a cool place out of direct sunlight. You also should try to avoid storing it with other silicone toys in order to keep the materials from reacting with each other. Similarly, you should avoid using silicone-based lubricants with this vibrator.
The Ali'se comes in very high quality and classy packaging. It consists of an outer box and an inner box, with the inner box having a window where you can see the toy. It does not come with any additional instructions, but the instructions printed on the box are sufficient to work it.
The outer box has an image of the toy on the front and the name of it, as well as a statement saying that the image is true to size. The back of the outer box has a picture of the toy from an angle and some basic information about it, like how it's silicone and rechargeable.
The inner box has a window where you can see the box and some basic care instructions. Inside the inner box the toy is held in a plastic insert, as well as the charger. The box is much larger than the Ali'se, so it may not be the best for storage.
I would not hesitate to wrap this up and give it as a gift, but it is pretty obvious that this is a sex toy. If you're trying to play it off as a neck massager you should probably re-package it somehow.
Here is an image of the front:
And the toy inside the insert:
The Ali'se is a toy that I have been wanting for months, so when I had the opportunity to review it I jumped on it. I was especially flattered to get the Descriptive Review on this, because that combined two things I checked for every day on the site together.
As a girth wimp, I was upset to find that I really couldn't insert this toy at all. After a lot of lube and warming up I was finally able to use it internally a bit, but it was just uncomfortable for me. Because of that this is certainly not for women who enjoy smaller toys.
On the other hand this is my new favorite external toy. It's got such wonderful, deep vibrations that can't be found just anywhere. It's also the perfect size for me to cover my entire clitoral area with, and the handle makes it very easy to maneuver.
Overall, this is a total 5 star toy. Even though it's too thick for me to use to its full potential the quality, low noise level, rechargeability, power, settings, and waterproof capabilities all make this a spectacular investment.
